The running, the strength, the nutrition, the injury-prevention work…feels like a lot.

Ain’t nobody got time for all ‘at (as the kids say).

The BEST news is, though…

When running, strength, and nutrition are aligned to YOU, the system to losing weight, running pain-free, and feeling at your best is both simple AND time-friendly.

It doesn’t require hours at the gym, on the treadmill, or making meals.

It just requires the RIGHT habits - the ones that are actually worth doing for YOU, done mostly consistently.

So that your running is taking off, the scale is trending in the right direction, and injuries are all but a distant memory.

YOU can be an injury-free, lean, and healthy runner.

Running social media tends to make things more complicated in a world that, I believe, needs more simple.

You will go very far through mastering simple.

As a physical therapist and certified run and nutrition coach…

And as someone who experienced a myriad of running injuries, then ran pain-free…

And as someone who gained weight, then lost weight…

And as someone who helps others run pain-free and lose weight…

I can confidently tell you that it is only when training, nutrition, injury prevention, and lifestyle factors work TOGETHER that we feel and run at our best!

This doesn’t always mean more hours devoted to these things…

It simply means finding the right, worthwhile “inputs” and learning how to practically fit them into your unique life.

Runner-specific strength work, mostly whole foods, good sleep hygiene, sensible training progressions…

It all supports each other, directly or indirectly.

You feel better physically and mentally, the ball starts rolling, momentum builds, and you’ve finally found the practical routine that works in YOUR life to help you lose the weight, keep it off, run consistently, and stay injury-free.

THAT is when you get the lasting, enjoyable, and FUN results that you want!

This is a big component of what we do in 1:1 coaching - finding out exactly what levers to pull and systems to implement so you actually follow through and get results, for good.

All-or-nothing mindsets often hinder results.

As a coach, I preach “80% consistency” to my runners, as this is a much more realistic standard to shoot for than perfection.

This isn’t just for training, either. Same concept applies to nutrition. 80% consistency in the right nutrition habits will drive results for most.

There’s a tension between holding yourself accountable and allowing grace for missing a workout or nutrition habit.

And I believe 80% consistency is a great objective gold standard to hold yourself accountable to.

For many of my runners that struggle with an all-or-nothing mindset, this proves to be a game-changer in their running and health.

If you resonate with this and would like to lose 10-30+ pounds while becoming a pain-free runner, let’s talk!

“Run more, eat less” is the game plan many runners who set out on their running and weight loss journeys employ.

Seems like a straightforward plan. Until the scale doesn’t budge, an injury pops up, or consistency tanks.

There is a better way to bring your training, injury-prevention, and nutrition into alignment to support your goals that I lay out in the slides above.

Hopefully, you see a theme throughout that with this approach, these things begin to work FOR you, not against you.

It’s not about gritting your teeth and working harder, following a rigid diet, or spending hours of your day working out.

Does it require sacrifices? Sure.

But the right sacrifices will leave you asking why you didn’t start this earlier.

More daily energy. Better sleep. Running takes off. Improved confidence in yourself.

The right habits, done mostly consistently, will take you a long way.
