Join us at the Bluffs (where happens) for a special Community Capoeira Roda with Mestre Roque and Professor Bom Malandro as part of Make Music Day Long Beach.

A roda is the heart of Capoeira — where music, rhythm, singing, clapping, movement, and community come together in one circle.

You don’t need to know Capoeira to be part of it. Whether you come to play, sing, clap, watch, or simply feel the energy, you are welcome.

As we gather during Juneteenth weekend and the Summer Solstice, we honor freedom, resilience, lineage, culture, and the traditions that carry wisdom forward.

A sanctuary session at our Hidden Sanctuary includes guided movement, breathwork, meditation, cold plunging and saunas.

We generally offer solar breathwork - a form of intentional hyperventilation followed by a series of breath holds. This is an ancient technique that has been practiced in various forms all over the world. In recent decades it has been studied in depth by modern science so we can understand what is actually happening physiologically. And we know its health benefits - like nervous system health, toning the vagus nerve, increasing intermittent blood alkalinity, suppressing inflammatory proteins, and stimulating a flush of healthy hormones.

This is part of our daily practice. Its benefits increase over time. Never do this in water or while driving because it can be intense!

We are hiring full time and part time facilitators to guide our 90-minute sessions at the Hidden Sanctuary.
If you have experience facilitating these modalities or related modalities and you are looking for a place to hone your skills and guide the community, this may be for you.
Our sessions include guided breathwork, meditation, movement, cold plunge and sauna.
We will provide extensive and ongoing training to all facilitators.

Our 90-minute Sanctuary Sessions start with an optional breathwork practice guided by our expert facilitators.
This practice has been proven to cultivate mild respiratory alkalosis (alkalinity), reset the nervous system and lead to deep states of calm and clarity.
After the guided breathing, our facilitators are here to coach you through your cold plunge, offering tips and practices to develop top down influence of your nervous system so that you can use the cold shock to benefit your immune system, remove inflammation and so many more wonderful benefits.
After that, it’s sauna time. We recommend several rounds of sauna followed by cold plunges to maximize the health benefits and to just feel your best.
These practices have been used for thousands of years all over the world. And now science is starting to catch up by proving time and time again that these practices have incredible health benefits.
