Political Party Switch Theory Edition...
The Democrat/Republican Party platforms' evolutions are EXTREMELY COMPLEX and CANNOT be explained in less than 500 words thumb typed on a phone app. Or fully explained in a less than 3 minute political history rundown video. I will say this in short.
1. The Democrat Party experienced a 4 way split in the 1850's which caused the party to have 4 presidential candidates in the 1860 presidential election. New England Puritan Nationalism (aka Marxism by today's standards) was one of them. Which was the splinter group that survived the Civil War, sent MANY politicians to the South called carpet baggers to demonize the real Southerners and use blacks as political pawns ever since.
- It was these New England political transplants who, by the 1920's, used the names of Confederate veterans groups (the most well known is the K*K) and became rioters for hire like BLM and ANTIFA today.
- Jim Crow laws were invented in MASSACHUSETTS and were first mentioned in MA in magazine publications like Freedom's Journal as early as 1827. A Google search will give a vague answer being somewhere in the South sometime during the Reconstruction Era which is FALSE.
- According to Antebellum journalists from New England and Europe, (who either already had negative opinions about the South or no real bias like French traveler Alexis de Tocqueville who wrote about his US travels from the 1820's in his book Democracy In America) but had the integrity to NOT LIE about the region's opinions about race, claimed that racism in the South, wasn't as prevalent as it was in the North. The further SOUTH one traveled, the LESS racism they saw.
- BOTH parties from the North AND South made closed doors agreements where the Republicans and Democrats from the North would vote FOR civil rights, and both parties from South would vote AGAINST these same policies. POLITICAL THEATRE. Same as the back room deals today between the DO NOTHING Republicans and the CHILDISH Democrats.
- Later, federal voting for civil rights has become more of a divisive reality show via political theater than the reality of what the South GENUINELY thought about race and race relationships as well as how the federal government kept changing the civil rights laws to oppose whatever laws the South enforced at any given time. While Mobile, Alabama got globally demonized in the 1960's for not desegregating their public spaces; Boston, Massachusetts practiced Jim Crow laws all the way into the 1990's WITHOUT ANY POLITOCAL SCRUTINY.
