This is my newsletter I sent out this week:

What’s the “right” way to make tea?

This is a trick question, there really is no right way. But, I do have a favorite.

I like making tea with a French press or quart size tea pot. That way I can make a large batch and drink it throughout the day.

Here is a video & written blog post that shows you how - https://herbalistsam.com/how-to-make-herbal-tea/

If I want to make 1 cup only, I usually use a tea strainer like this. I don’t like those little tea strainer balls because not a lot of plant material fits in them and I’ve had them open in the cup while infusing. - https://us.list-manage.com/no7SI22O2aW?e=1afb18d35b&c2id=0048d1feb82df89d293109c6e6a29ab0

I’ve also recently found these tea bags that I really like. They are really handy if you are traveling or if you want to make tea while you are out. You can pre-fill them with whatever blend you’d like. Then all you need to do is get hot water. You can always ask at Starbucks or somewhere like that. - https://us.list-manage.com/CjwWZDxmxCP?e=1afb18d35b&c2id=0048d1feb82df89d293109c6e6a29ab0

Are you starting to make your own tea blends? Here are some tips I have to share. (video & written blog post) - https://herbalistsam.com/how-to-make-a-custom-herbal-tea-blend/

The 2 BEST Herbs for Seasonal Allergies!

Stinging nettle & goldenrod contain quercetin, which lowers histamine!

They can be drunk as tea or taken as tinctures. I prefer tea, but that is my personal preference- tinctures or even freeze-dried capsules can bring relief to allergy symptoms.

I find them most helpful when taken daily.

There are so many herbs that you can take to help you sleep.

Mugwort isn’t usually the only herb I’d recommend, but it finds its way into many nighttime blends for a lot of my clients.

Do you struggle falling asleep? Have you ever tried herbs to help?

If you have daily stress or anxiety… have you ever tried tulsi?

It’s a gentle nervine: calms nervous system

It’s an adaptogen: helps body handle stress when drunk consistently

And it tastes good!

Have you ever tried tulsi?
