The 2 BEST Herbs for Seasonal Allergies!

Stinging nettle & goldenrod contain quercetin, which lowers histamine!

They can be drunk as tea or taken as tinctures. I prefer tea, but that is my personal preference- tinctures or even freeze-dried capsules can bring relief to allergy symptoms.

I find them most helpful when taken daily.

There are so many herbs that you can take to help you sleep.

Mugwort isn’t usually the only herb I’d recommend, but it finds its way into many nighttime blends for a lot of my clients.

Do you struggle falling asleep? Have you ever tried herbs to help?

If you have daily stress or anxiety… have you ever tried tulsi?

It’s a gentle nervine: calms nervous system

It’s an adaptogen: helps body handle stress when drunk consistently

And it tastes good!

Have you ever tried tulsi?

Are you team fresh or dried herbs?

I typically make tea with dried herbs. You need less plant material to make a stronger cup of tea.

But, there is something delightful about making tea with fresh herbs too.

My go-to tea with fresh herbs are: mint, lemon balm, and tulsi.

What do you prefer? Fresh or dried herbs for tea?

What side are you on? Fresh herbs or dried herbs?

I usually make tea with dried herbs, but it's always fun to make some with fresh herbs.

Did you know that dried herbs make a stronger cup of tea?

Switch out your multivitamin with red clover. And yes, this is the same red clover that grows in your backyard and in the park. It’s not just a “weed,” it is natural medicine! 💊➡️🍵

Red clover does not need to be taken fresh, you can buy it from an herb supplier and use it dried. 🎉

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞:

✔️Make a long infusion tea. Put fresh or dried red clovers in a mug, tea pot, or French press. Boil water and pour over red clover. Cover and let infuse for at least 4 hours. Strain & enjoy. 🍵🌸

✔️Infuse red clovers in vinegar and pour over salads, take as a vinegar shot, or get creative and add to your dishes. Vinegar is great at extracting minerals! 🍎🥗

⭐️Want to take it up a nutritional notch? Blend it with some of its high mineral friends like stinging nettles, dandelion leaf, and oatstraw! HOLY NUTRITION!!! I like to add tulsi and ginger for taste. 🫖🍵

**Do not take red clover if on blood thinning pharmaceuticals & weeks prior to having surgery, when pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Have you ever tried red clover? What’s your favorite recipes? 🤷‍♀️🌸

This is a picture I took of rosehips in Cinque Terre Italy over the summer. Side note- if you haven’t ever gone to Cinque Terre… go! Google it now. It’s amazing. ⛰🌊

But back to rosehips…

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬?

Rosehips are the fruit of a rose. 🌸🍓

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞

The rosehips in this picture probably have a higher medicinal quality now in November than they did back in August. Many people say their favorite time to pick rosehips is right after the first frost of the year. 🍓☀️

If you can find rosehips decide for yourself. Pick some now and pick some after it gets a little colder and see what you like more. ☀️❄️

𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞?

Buy them! Rosehips can be bought from trusted herb suppliers. Buy them dried and whole, ground up as a powder, or prepared in syrups. 🎉

𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬

When I think rosehips, I think of heart health. Rosehips can be taken daily as a heart tonic. They are known to improve blood pressure, cholesterol, and other cardiovascular risks. ❤️❤️

Due to their high antioxidant and bioflavonoid content, they do wonders on lowering inflammation. 💪🫐

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲

Rose hips are considered a food herb and are typically safe to take in large amounts daily.

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬? 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠? 😴😴

Well, let me introduce you to MUGWORT TEA!

𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠

After drinking mugwort tea, your dreams should immediately be enhanced. For example, if you never remember your dreams, you will remember your dreams and should be more vivid. 🤯🌿

Perhaps you normally dream in black & white, your dreams may be bumped up to color. Your senses may also be enhanced. You may experience smell and sound. 💭💤

Work with it consistently you can work up to lucid dreaming. Once being aware you are dreaming while asleep, you can take control of your dreams. Go on adventures and decide your actions when dreaming.

𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬

I can only speak for myself, but I have not had any nightmares since drinking mugwort. In fact, I have enjoyed drinking it before bed and have drunk it almost every night for over a month. I’ve noticed every night isn’t equally intense and vivid, but I’ve remembered each dream for the most part and have been looking forward to my tea every night. I’ve given the tea to other people before bed, and they have told me they have had vivid dreams when they wake up. 😴😴

I’ve also had a good friend try take postpartum blend. She told me she has been having crazy dreams and after looking at the ingredients, low and behold mugwort was in her blend! 🤯🌿

Well, unfortunately there isn’t a magic pill to keep us looking and feeling 18 forever yet. However, we do have many things that are very helpful! 💊🤷‍♀️

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐬?

Sugars, unhealthy fats, pollution and more can generate free radical production. The free radical theory says oxidative damage to cells (free radicals) ages us. 🍩🍕🚬

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬:

The best way to rid the body of free radicals is to eat a nutritious diet and cut out sugar, unhealthy fat, and fast food.

AND…

𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔! Antioxidants neutralize free radicals and can help keep us young and lower the risk of disease. ⭐️

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬?

Antioxidants are found in fruits, vegetables, and other nutrient rich foods, many herbs and spices, including… 🥦🌶🧄🍠

𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐝! 🌼

Herbalist Robert Dale Rogers says that goldenrod has 7 times the antioxidant levels of green tea! 🌼🤯

That is a lot of antioxidants! When I heard this, it made me even more excited about adding goldenrod to my tea blends. 🍵

Have you ever tried goldenrod? What’s your favorite way to drink it? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Can you guess what 3 herbs are always in my 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗺𝗯 𝘁𝗲𝗮?

Did you guess….

𝘋𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦…

🌱Stinging Nettle Leaf
🌸Red Clover
🌱Dandelion Leaf

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲:
✔️I put 1-2 spoonfuls of each herb. (I usually have other herbs in there along with these 3.)
✔️Pour a quart of boiling water over the herbs.
✔️Cover.
✔️Let sit for at least 4 hours. I usually prepare it before I go to bed and drink it throughout the next day.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴?
When we want to extract minerals out of herbs we want to use a long infusion method. At least 4 hours.

*Steer clear of red clover if on pharmaceutical blood thinners.

Is there a drink you have every day? Or close to it?

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀.

Herbal tea don’t have to just be enjoyed on cold winter days. I love cooling down with some iced herbal tea and getting their medicinal benefits! ☀️🧉

🌺𝗛𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀🌺

Hibiscus iced tea is one of my favorite summertime drinks! The sour tastes quenches my sweet cravings. Maybe that’s why it is considered an herb for weight loss in Mexico.

🌸𝗘𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀🌸

Elderflower tea is often drunk when trying to bring down a fever. It moves blood from the core out to the periphery while opening the pores. This helps you cool down your body temperature by releasing heat. It works just as well on a hot day as it does when you have a fever!

🌿𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗺🌿

I dare you to find me a person that does not like lemon balm. It is calming and uplifting. A perfect summertime mood. It helps cool you down and tastes great. Lemon balm is considered safe from children, to elders, and even for those with a bun in the oven!

This is not an exhaustive list! I love playing around with iced tea blends on hot days! 🧊🍵

Do you have any teas you liked iced? 🤷‍♀️

Please share in the comments! I’m always looking for inspiration and I’m sure others are too! ☀️☀️

This picture is me enjoying a hot day in Miami 2 years ago. Wishing I had an iced tea in my hand to cool me down! 😂
