Summer is better when weโ€™re together. ๐Ÿ’› Bixby Knolls comes alive in the summer with neighbors gathering, live music, and local businesses welcoming the community in. ๐ŸŽถ

Through events like Concerts in the Park(ing Lot), the Bixby Knolls Community Foundation creates moments that bring people together while supporting our local economy during a slower season. Summer can be a challenging time for small businesses, and these events help bring visibility, energy, and foot traffic into the district when itโ€™s needed most.

Our Concerts in the Park(ing Lot) Summer Series returns next week, and weโ€™re kicking things off with an evening of live Latin music, dancing, and community fun! Join us on Monday as Yari More Latin Band fills the parking lot with energetic salsa, merengue, cumbia, and more. ๐ŸŒดโœจ

Hi everyone!

The countdown is officially on for one of our favorite summer traditions! Mark your calendars and save the date because our very first Concert in the Park(ing Lot) of the season is happening on Monday, June 22nd. Get ready for great music, community vibes, and a perfect summer evening out under the stars.

If you are looking for plans this weekend, there is no shortage of action in the neighborhood, especially for sports fans! We have a massive weekend of soccer ahead, and you can catch all the action at our local watch parties. Whether you want to grab a pint at Ambitious Ales, enjoy some great food at Rasselbock, or hang out in the open-air space at Steelcraft, our local spots have you covered for all the games all weekend long.

There are plenty of other fantastic neighborhood happenings to check out as well. Tomorrow is Second Saturday, and And Then LB is celebrating by hosting some incredibly unique pop-ups. Right next door, Better Half Boutique is hosting their fun "Spritz into Summer" event, also in collaboration with Second Saturdays! If you are looking for unique ways to learn something new, Beachwood Brewing & Distilling is hosting a variety of exciting classes, while the Long Beach Shakespeare Company is continuing their fantastic New Works Festival. Finally, if you are looking to get your pup exercised and energized without visiting wide open spaces, check out GOfetch's training club!

Hi everyone!

Summer is officially on the horizon, and we are kicking off the sunny season in a big way next week! Mark your calendars because First Fridays returns next week on Friday, June 5th, with a spectacular "Summer Kickoff" theme. It is going to be the perfect way to get out, celebrate, and enjoy everything our wonderful business district has to offer. Pro tip- like the illustration above? It will be for sale in our sticker vending machine during First Fridays! Find it near the bar inside the Expo Arts Center & be sure to bring quarters ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you are looking for things to do this weekend and beyond, the neighborhood is absolutely packed with activity. You can kick things off tomorrow by celebrating at the Steelcraft Pride Party, or head over to GOfetch to check out their "Ask the Trainer" event before their puppy classes start up next week. On Sunday, May 31st, Deep Blue Swim School is hosting an incredibly important Water Safety Day for families. Looking just a little further ahead, Confluence Rising is hosting their free Love Day on June 6th, and the Sunshine Rabbit Center is hosting a drag storytime with bunnies on June 7th!

We also have some major community dates to keep on your radar for later in the month. The Bixby Knolls Wellness Center is hosting an informative Perimenopause and Menopause panel on June 27th, and you definitely will not want to miss our very first Concert in the Park(ing Lot) of the season on June 22nd.
