Dr. Clint Flanagan, MD, CMO of KerixHealth, recently joined healthcare leaders from across Colorado for BizWest’s CEO Roundtable, alongside representatives from UCHealth, Boulder Community Health, Boulder County Public Health, and other organizations serving the region.

The conversation focused on pressures facing healthcare today, from reimbursement cuts and rising costs to workforce challenges and the growing need to rethink how care is delivered.

Dr. Flanagan shared KerixHealth’s perspective on the role direct primary care can play in that future. By moving away from the traditional fee-for-service model, physicians have more time with patients and can focus on building the continuity and trust central to good primary care.

Dr. Sims brings more than 25 years of family medicine experience to our community. After completing his medical training and residency, he practiced in La Junta, Colorado, for 12 years before moving to Conifer in 2014.

His dedication to caring for others has also led him to Gonaïves, Haiti, where he helped build and staff a local clinic. Outside of medicine, Dr. Sims enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

We are excited for Lone Tree patients to get to know Dr. Sims and benefit from his decades of experience and personal approach to care.

With more than 25 years of experience in family medicine, Dr. McKarnin has dedicated her career to providing personalized, relationship-centered care to patients of all ages. She believes great primary care starts with listening, building trust, and working together to create a plan that fits each patient’s individual health goals.

Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, women’s health, chronic disease management, joint injections, minor dermatologic procedures, and helping patients build healthy habits that support long-term wellness.

At KerixHealth, Dr. McKarnin will continue doing what she values most: spending meaningful time with her patients and providing accessible, personalized care through the Direct Primary Care model.
