We are deeply grateful to Starbucks for its commitment to supporting local communities—and especially grateful to the local Starbucks partners who nominated us for the meaningful award of a grant for our 501c3!

This grant will directly support our mission and the work we do right here in our community! Support from community-minded leaders and organizations makes a lasting difference, helping us continue to serve and strengthen our community.

Thank you to the Starbucks Foundation, Fidelity Charitable, and our local Starbucks partners for believing in our work and investing in our community. We are honored and grateful for your support! 💚☕️

National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day is a time to remember, educate, and prevent. This day honors lives lost to overdoses involving illegally made fentanyl and supports families, friends, and communities affected by the overdose crisis.

It is also a call to action: share facts, support families, and help people take steps that can save lives.

We are lucky to have these guys on our team!

This week, Officer Duffie and Officer Moore from Longview’s Police Outreach Service Team (POST) attended the 9th Annual IDD Crisis Intervention Services Conference with a few of our crisis and IDD staff. We deeply appreciate their dedication and commitment to enhancing their understanding of how to better support individuals with disabilities and their families during crises in our communities.

What is POST? 🤔
POST officially began in Longview on January 1, 2018, with two officers dedicated to people experiencing homelessness. The goal of the team is to reduce homeless-related complaints by acting as a bridge between the homeless and available appropriate services. The creation of this team was one of the recommendations of the Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness in 2017. POST is modeled after successful programs in other communities, such as Lubbock and Houston.

National Deflection Week 2026 is a time to recognize the power of connecting people with help before a crisis becomes a criminal justice issue.

Deflection is a proactive, prevention-focused approach that connects individuals with the services and support they need, rather than relying solely on enforcement.

At GLOW, we put this approach into action through our partnerships with Community Healthcore, Longview Fire Department, and Longview Police Department. Together, we meet people where they are, providing compassionate support, essential resources, and meaningful interventions that help strengthen individuals, families, and our community.

Join us in recognizing the value of prevention, partnership, and compassion by helping spread awareness of the impact deflection can have in our community.

✨GLOW Team Spotlight✨

Meet Qualified Mental Health Professional, Brandon Oswald! 🌟

For the past 3 months, Brandon has been training with Community Health Core to become the primary QMHP for GLOW!

Brandon has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler! While he has not always worked in this field, he has a heart and passion for the work he does and the people he works with!

"We serve the community in ways that some people don’t think about. The people we serve know there are problems or barriers, but lack the resources to overcome them. That’s where we come in.”
- Brandon Oswald, QMHP

We're grateful to have Brandon as part of the GLOW team and excited to see the impact he'll continue to make. Join us in recognizing Brandon for his dedication and the difference he's making in the lives of those we serve. 🧡

✨GLOW Team Spotlight✨

Meet Community Health Paramedic, Jonathan Mize!🌟

For the past 11 years, Jonathan has been serving our community as a firefighter paramedic with the City of Longview. But over the last six months, he’s taken on a new role as a vital member of the GLOW program!

As a paramedic, Jonathan is used to helping people during short-term emergencies. Through GLOW, he loves getting to step in before the emergency, helping residents connect with primary care doctors, get their medications, and build healthier, happier lives for the long run.

"So many times as a paramedic, we don't ever know the outcomes that occur. Getting the opportunity to connect with these people and make a big difference in their life has been such an important factor for me."
— Jonathan Mize

Join us in thanking Jonathan for his incredible dedication to Longview! 💚

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, GLOW remains dedicated to promoting mental wellness through strong community partnerships.

Highlighting an important message from the Hogg Foundation, this video unites three dedicated voices working together for our community: Jessica Cheshire from Community Health Core, Officer Shelia DelConte from the Longview Police Department, and Ricky Norman from the Longview Fire Department.

Mental health matters, and with the right building blocks of Home, Health, Family, and Community, we can all have more good days together. Your, my, our, mental health matters!

If you or someone you know is struggling, resources and support are always available. Let’s look out for each other, Longview. 💚
