One of the parts of chronic fatigue for me is a slow subtle disconnection from my body that usually then triggers the body dysmorphia which of course then makes being seen significantly less comfortable and recording close to impossible. During these times, it’s vital I focus on my own wellness and practice the things that work for me to the point I feel, not ready or comfortable but motivated to get back to my normal life, this builds more space and capacity each time and I feel internally as though things have shifted in the direction of good. During these early days back to normal, I feel alien in my skin, in my words and interactions, socially awkward and uncomfortable but, showing up uncomfortable consistently over the years has grown me in ways that go so far beyond words it’s hard to express. Depression has become a visitor rather than a home, anxiety is seen and accepted rather than avoided and reacted to, social awkwardness is shared and allowed to be funny rather than isolated, there is more. So, I guess, I’m sharing in case you go to outer space too (disconnecting from your body and then traveling away from your “normal” ) and are having a hard time coming back, be encouraged you aren’t alone, maybe a simple way to reconnect is to breathe - with me or not and give yourself permission to show up awkwardly, to show up not ready, alien in your body and trust the process is beneficial to you. It’s ok to start small, to be authentic about it being uncomfortable and to not allow the experience to keep you disconnected.
