The School of Health Sciences and Education was honored to host Dr. Karleigh Curfman today for an informative and engaging event focused on colorectal health, with more than 140 faculty, staff, and students in attendance!

Dr. Curfman is a Board-certified Colorectal and Minimally Invasive General Surgeon at Conemaugh Physician Group. She covered a wide range of important topics, including:

• Colorectal surgery
• Bowel health, Habits and Happenings
• Colorectal Cancer and Colonoscopy Facts
• Colorectal Cancer and Surgery
• Minimally Invasive and Colorectal Surgery
• Surgical Management Options

One of the highlights of the event was certainly their inflatable colon entrance! It was a fun and interactive way for attendees to learn more about colorectal health while seeing firsthand how different conditions can affect the colon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked questions, and took an active role in learning more about colorectal health and cancer prevention. Events like this help remind us that knowledge, screening, and early detection can make a real difference.
