Eating more, resting more, thinking about food more, and watching your body change. 😵‍💫

These experiences can feel terrifying when you’ve spent so long surviving in restriction, control, or disconnection from your body. 🙃

I wish I could give past me a hug.

I lost myself, missed out on years of life, lived in shame at feeling faux superiority at the same time. My hair was falling out, I had lanugo covering my body, I was depressed, and my body and mind were SICK. 😞

Do you know your hunger and satiety cues?

Did you grow up being told to always finish your plate?

Pushing yourself past fullness (or eating before you’re full) can distort the connection between you and your hunger and satiety cues and make trusting your body’s needs hard.

Do diets work?

Sure, restricting can make you lose weight, but it’s not sustainable and often makes you repeat the “diet cycle.” 😵‍💫

And I’m sorry (not sorry) but adolescents don’t need to be put on diets and be taught an unhealthy relationship with food. Be active and eat a wide variety of foods, focusing mostly on the nutritious ones, and learn/honor your hunger and satiety cues! ✨
