Dear Keiro Community Members,
As we celebrate Keiro’s 65th anniversary, I’ve reflected on my nearly 50-year career at Keiro, beginning as a pharmacy intern at City View Hospital in 1974. In those early days, I felt a connection to Keiro’s mission, its founders, volunteers, staff, and community members who inspired my personal and professional growth. The core value of “respect for the elderly” is deeply rooted in my soul and continues to offer me immense purpose and fulfillment.
It is with bittersweet emotions today that I announce my intention to retire as Keiro’s president and CEO at the end of 2026. I am proud to be part of Keiro’s legacy of care and its advancement with future endeavors to build a community where everyone, across all ages, can live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
My time at Keiro has encouraged me to put its mission into practice by discovering new ways to live a healthier and more fulfilling life after retirement — from spending more time with family, taking my very first trip to Japan, and continuing to find meaningful ways to support Our Community. I will miss the daily routine and interactions with my incredible Board, advisors, staff, and community members, but as I explore new hobbies and life enrichment activities, I am confident that our paths will continue to intersect.
Our work together is not done yet. At Keiro, we are continuing to expand programs to promote aging with confidence, vitality, and purpose by providing resources to support caregivers throughout their unique journeys and funding partnerships with organizations that create a network of services aligned with our mission to enhance the quality of senior life in Our Community.
In the coming weeks, you will receive updates on our plan to identify Keiro’s next leader. Thank you for your generous support throughout the years. I will always cherish the memories and experiences we have shared and look forward to continuing to build a strong future for Keiro with you.
With gratitude,
Beverly Ito
President & CEO
