Something very beautiful — and very revealing — happened during today’s ROOTS OF GROUNDING breathwork 🌿
The moment everyone laid down and we began breathing together… the energy in the room became very chaotic.
Not because something was “wrong.”
But because so many nervous systems were suddenly being invited into the present moment at the same time.
And I think that chaos says a lot about the way many of us live every day.
The difficulty of pausing. The discomfort of truly being here. The impulse to mentally leave the moment almost immediately.
Because many of us are physically present…but internally still moving.
Still anticipating.Still searching.Still holding.Still trying to get somewhere else.
And what felt very powerful today was witnessing how, little by little, through conscious connected breathing, that energy began reorganizing itself.
The room softened.
The breathing deepened.
People started arriving more fully into their bodies.
And this is one of the things I find most fascinating about breathwork:
what is unconscious starts becoming conscious.
The resistance. The tension. The urgency. The ways we leave ourselves. The difficulty of simply staying with what is.
Not to judge it.Not to fix it.
Just to finally see it.
And many people shared afterward that they experienced resistance.
Resistance to slowing down internally.Resistance to staying present.Resistance to simply breathing without trying to get somewhere.
And honestly… I think this is where grounding begins.
Not in forcing calm. Not in becoming “zen.”
But in building the capacity to stay connected to ourselves without immediately escaping the present moment.
Because grounding is not the absence of intensity.
It’s the body learning:“I can stay here.”
And there’s something profoundly powerful about breathing in community.
Nervous systems begin co-regulating.Bodies soften together.People land together.
And slowly, the room starts feeling less chaotic…and more human 🌿
