Gout is more than a flare—it’s a form of arthritis that can disrupt daily life in a big way.
During a gout attack, even simple movements can feel impossible. And the impact doesn’t stop at physical pain.
According to a 2026 survey of people living with gout conducted by the Arthritis Foundation:
➡️ Nearly half said they struggled quite a bit or extremely with their ability to move, do what they want and take part in recreational activities during their last flare.
➡️ 48% reported being moderately or severely affected emotionally by their gout.
Behind every statistic is someone navigating pain, limitations and uncertainty.
