A common belief about trauma therapy is that it takes years before anything really shifts. For many people, that's not true.

Approaches like EMDR and short-term trauma protocols are designed to help the nervous system process what happened in a paced, structured way. Many clients begin to feel meaningful relief within weeks, especially when the work centers on a specific event.

Longer work has its place. But if the fear of a long road has been keeping you from reaching out, effective, focused care exists.

Whenever you catch yourself doubting, second-guessing, or struggling with a decision, I have a simple but powerful tool for you. Ask yourself: “Am I living my worth?” If this decision honors your self-love and self-acceptance, it’s a clear yes. If not, trust your intuition and pause.

Use this question…

So much of what we carry into adulthood started long before we had words for it. The patterns, the inner critic, the fear of being too much or not enough. These often trace back to the parts of childhood where our needs went unmet.

Reparenting is the practice of becoming the steady, compassionate presence your younger self needed. Setting boundaries you didn't have. Speaking to yourself with kindness. Letting yourself rest and feel without earning it.

You can't change what happened. But you can change who shows up for you now.

Journaling can be a powerful tool for self-awareness, emotional processing, and personal growth. 🌿

Taking time to put thoughts and feelings into words can help reduce stress, increase clarity, and create a stronger connection with yourself. Journaling also allows individuals to reflect on patterns, process difficult emotions, and track growth over time.

There is no “right” way to journal—what matters most is creating space to slow down, reflect, and express yourself honestly.

At the Center for Healing and Personal Growth, we encourage tools like journaling to support emotional wellness, mindfulness, and healing.

Transactional Analysis is a therapeutic approach that helps us better understand the different “parts” of ourselves and how they show up in everyday interactions. 🌿

According to this model, we all operate from different ego states—including the parent, adult, and inner child. These parts can influence the way we communicate, respond to stress, and relate to others in our daily lives and relationships.

By becoming more aware of these patterns, individuals can improve communication, build healthier relationships, and respond more intentionally rather than react automatically.

At the Center for Healing and Personal Growth, we use approaches like Transactional Analysis to help individuals gain insight, strengthen self-awareness, and create more meaningful connections with others.

There's no timeline for grief. But there's a difference between grief that softens over time and grief that stays stuck.

When the pain still feels as raw as the first week. When life feels frozen. When you can't stop searching for the person you lost. These can be signs that grief has become complicated, and that healing may need more than time.

This isn't a sign you loved too much or didn't grieve "right." It's a signal that your heart needs support.

What helped you most when you were grieving someone? Share in the comments if you feel comfortable.

If your child feels hesitant about therapy—or your teen is refusing to attend—you can still receive support. 🌿

Parents do not have to navigate these challenges alone. Consulting with a therapist can help you better understand what may be happening with your child or teen, while giving you practical guidance and tools to create positive changes within the family.

Sometimes meaningful change begins with supporting the parent first. Small shifts in family dynamics can have a powerful impact on the entire household.

At the Center for Healing and Personal Growth, we work with parents, children, and teens to help families build healthier communication, stronger relationships, and more supportive home environments.
