I've learned to overcome eating challenges and some health issues with a holistic approach. I believe that healthy lifestyle habits lead to a life that *Shines*. One thing about me, I am a bit of a rebel when it comes to strict diets and the 'latest greatest' thing in nutrition. A stroke is no joke ❤️‍🩹
I’ll break it down a little more here than I did in the video. Upon awakening, your platelets are thicker, and because your cardiovascular system has been in super calm mode, just the act of waking up… -Think of starting your car- Everything in your body lights up to get you ready for your day. If you get older, you have to note that the body and all its systems need to be cared for.

So jumping out of bed and going straight to intensity exercise is not a wise move

It’s best to guzzle 16 to 20 ounces of room temperature water while you relax for a couple minutes sitting up on your bed. Don’t add caffeine until about an hour after waking. Yep! I know that’s a rough one. Have a little bit of herbal tea. We have to adapt new habits. I believe you can do it.

Eat something within 30 minutes of waking; don’t starve yourself. This stress on the body is no good.

If you want your caffeine, wait an hour after waking up

Before breakfast do some stretching or take a small walk around your block.
That releases nitric oxide, which helps your platelets not be so sticky, which can cause clots.

There’s a lot of science behind this but I don’t want to get into all the details.
I went to school for all of this. I’m here to help you.
Sometimes it’s not just the knowledge that you need. It’s the support that you need. Most people know some, but they don’t do it because there is too much chatter and noise in the health world. It’s really important to take steps and streamline your plan to meet your goals. This is what I help people do.

Traveling doesn’t have to be a time to fall off the wagon or throw all my healthy convictions out the window.

Sleep is where the brain repairs. Without good sleep, the brain cannot function at full capacity. The solutions? Proper supplementation, proper stress management, proper nutrients, proper wind down plans, and on and on. Each step helps. I have seen lots and lots of improvement in people who’ve reached out.

My mom was iconic in every way. That’s her in the center at a sewing fashion show. And that’s me in the little dress she sewed for me and she’s wearing the dress she sewed for herself.

Anyone who’s lost a mother…❤️‍🩹 I miss her more than I ever imagined I would. These little fragmented memories are what make my world feel complete.

2 1/2 years without her. So many memories popped into my head at random times. Tears still flood my eyes when I am struck with a thought of something she did or said, or just who she was in my life.

I’ll never not miss her

I thank God constantly that she was my mother.

I’m 67 and I believe healthy vitality can be a choice.
What makes the biggest difference? Daily small repeatable steps that work.
Because we’re in a society where so many people break down early and continue that trend into their later senior years… We just accept that’s the way it’s going to be.

No. It doesn’t have to be that way.

What is your motivation to wanting healthy longevity? Write it down.
Is it to travel? To play with your grandchildren? To continue to enjoy your gardening or athletic hobbies?

it’s not too late. That’s the thing I try to convince women of. And yes, there are very effective steps you can take that will make a difference.

Quick question: When was the last time you thought about iodine?
Yeah… probably never. 😄
But here’s the thing — this tiny nutrient quietly controls some of the biggest systems in your body.

⚡ What iodine actually does:
It fuels your thyroid, which regulates:
- Metabolism (how fast you burn energy)
- Body temperature
- Hormones
- Brain function

No/too low iodine = your system slows down. Period.

🚨 What happens if you’re low?
This is where it gets interesting…

- Constant fatigue (even after sleeping)
