At 28, I was a personal assistant leading my own team. I was successful, independent, and had just gotten my motorbike license.
Then, in November 2006, the accident happened. From one second to the next, I was in so much pain I couldn’t walk anymore.
Despite everything I tried, it didn’t get better. I went from doctor to doctor without being taken seriously.
Slowly, my foot became more swollen, red, and shiny, and the pain spread from my foot and ankle up my leg until I found myself in a wheelchair.
Then in April 2007, I was finally diagnosed and treatment started soon afterwards. My pain improved, but I was told I would never fully heal and never be pain-free.
At 39, I began digging deep into chronic pain management and healing. That changed everything.
Pain wasn’t the enemy and medication wasn’t the answer. I was wrong about that for so long.
What had kept me from healing for 11 years, I overcame in just 10 months.
Today, I’m 47, going on long walks with my dog, working out every day, doing my grocery shopping, or walking barefoot in nature. Just living a normal life, free from the overwhelming fear of pain putting me in a wheelchair again.
If you’re living with chronic pain, stick around. I’m sharing what helped me go from 12 years of pain to living pain-free.
