POV: you started doing less and started processing more 🙌🏼 I used to be “skinny fat” even though I was training soo hard each week - but that was the problem! I was overtraining. I always chased sweaty workouts that got my heart rate up, because I thought the more a workout “burned”, the more effective it must be. I did more and more and more. Sometimes working out 6x/week. Ironically, I finally started seeing results when I drastically reduced my training volume and really prioritized strength > sweat. I stopped chasing the burn and started chasing strength. Instead of going into a workout to feel exhausted by the end, i started focusing on progressively overloading with my weights (going heavier each week) and building strength. I’ll lift heavy enough weights that I can only do 6-10 reps. Because the more weight you can lift, the stronger you get, and the stronger you get, the more lean muscle you build. The more muscle you have, the better your body composition looks. I’ll occasionally do a HIIT workout for cardiovascular benefits but I mostly focus on walking & strength training, with a huge priority on recovery and sleep. If you’re in the “skinny fat” phase, let this be your reminder to start chasing strength and stop focusing on the sweat in your workouts! As always, lmk in the comments if you have any questions and lmk if this helped!
