Over brunch and live music, guests exchanged ideas about neurodiversity, advocacy, wellness, AI, and the future of work. From the biases that continue to shape hiring and leadership to the possibilities AI holds for more accessible workplaces, the discussion offered a thoughtful look at where progress is being made, where barriers remain, and what greater inclusion can look like.

It was a beautiful afternoon spent with people willing to listen, share their perspectives, challenge old assumptions, and consider how each of us can help create a more inclusive world.

Special Needs Network will continue to build on this momentum through LA Inclusive, creating more pathways to meaningful employment and opportunities for neurodivergent individuals. There is more work ahead, and we’re excited about what we can accomplish together.

💙 Showing up for our community is what CORE is all about.

Colin, a member of Special Needs Network’s CORE program, joined us at our 21st Annual Back 2 School Health + Resource Fair to lend a hand and help families and kids get ready for a successful new school year. 🎒📚

From volunteering his time to connecting with families, Colin shares what it meant to be part of a day centered on giving back, supporting our community, and making sure students start the year feeling prepared.

🎒✨ A day for our kids. A day for our families. A day for community.

Our 21st Annual Back 2 School Health + Resource Fair was filled with everything we love about bringing Los Angeles together: families connecting with valuable resources, kids leaving with backpacks and school supplies, live entertainment, activities, food, health and dental screenings, and plenty of smiles along the way. 💙

We were proud to welcome Councilwoman Heather Hutt and Assemblymember Isaac Bryan as we celebrated another year of making sure families have access to the support they need heading into a new school year.

The celebration came to life with performances from Trevan and D Four Band, plus our incredible emcee and DJ keeping the energy going throughout the day. 🎶

A very special thank you to all of our vendors, community partners, sponsors, volunteers, performers, and SNN team members who showed up for our families. An event of this size takes a community to make happen, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and energy.

21 years later, the mission remains the same: show up, connect families to resources, and make sure our community knows we are here. 💙📚

Conversations about inclusion matter most when they inspire action. 💗

At Pink Pump: A Vineyard Affair, one small business owner shared how the afternoon strengthened her commitment to considering neurodivergent talent as she grows her business.

She came into the event already thinking about neurodivergent candidates, but left with an even greater understanding of why inclusive hiring matters and the value neurodivergent individuals can bring to the workplace.

This is exactly why we create spaces like Pink Pump. To bring people together, shift perspectives, build meaningful connections, and turn conversations about inclusion into real opportunities.

Our first Pink Pump: A Vineyard Affair brought the spirit of Pink Pump to Martha’s Vineyard for an intimate afternoon rooted in connection, conversation, and possibility. 💗

Hosted by Special Needs Network Founder and CEO Areva Martin (Areva Martin), the afternoon brought together an incredible group of leaders for brunch, live music, and a powerful conversation about neurodiversity, advocacy, wellness, AI, and the future of work.

Areva was joined by Rakia Reynolds (Rakia Reynolds) and CBS News’ Jericka Duncan (Jericka Duncan) for a thoughtful discussion that challenged the way we think about talent, professionalism, belonging, and opportunity.

From the role AI could play in creating more accessible workplaces to the biases that still shape who gets hired, developed, and given the opportunity to lead, the conversation ultimately came back to action and the work ahead through SNN’s LA Inclusive initiative.

And that is exactly what we hoped this inaugural gathering would do. Introduce new people to the work of Special Needs Network, deepen relationships, rethink the systems that continue to overlook neurodivergent talent, and open doors to new partnerships that can turn conversation into real workforce opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported this vision, and came ready to think differently about what inclusion can look like. As Areva reminded us, the future is something we build together.

☀️ So many little moments made Camp JPAC a summer to remember. 💙

From coloring and getting lost in a good book to hands-on science activities, playing outside, and sharing lunch together, every day gave our campers something new to explore and enjoy.

And of course, we can’t forget the smiles when those burgers arrived! 🍔 A huge thank you again to Storm Burger for treating our campers to lunch and adding another special memory to the summer.

Looking back, it wasn’t just the big celebrations that made Camp JPAC so meaningful. It was days like these, filled with learning, laughter, good food, new experiences, and simply having fun together.

Already missing our Camp JPAC crew. 💙

💙 Missing these Camp JPAC days already!

From dance classes and creative projects to games, new experiences, camp chants, and so many laughs in between, this summer gave us memories we’ll be holding onto for a long time. ☀️

But the best part was watching our campers make new friends, try new things, grow in confidence, and bring their own energy to every single day.

Here’s a little throwback to the smiles, the fun, and all the moments that made Camp JPAC so special. Until we get to do it all again. 💙
