Is now an awful time to try and figure out your gender? Isn't it always an awful time? The fact is exploring your gender might feel scary and overwhelming no matter what and there will always be excuses to put it off. If it's always an awful time that actually means now is as good a time as any.

Your gender is trying to guide you, it's trying to communicate with you, it's trying to give you the info you need. Sometimes it's just really hard to hear because we're trying to do other things or what we are learning isn't what we want to learn and we try and argue with it. Try and ignore all the shoulds. There is no correct timeline, the correct timeline is what you're experiencing. There is no correct answer, the correct answer is just what you learn when you let go. Be open to something other than what you think should happen and you might find something better than you imagined.

[Image description: a white box within a beige box that says "Your gender will demand your attention on its timeline.

Unfortunately your gender doesn't care when it's convenient for you, and ignoring it will only make its signals louder and more persistent. This can feel overwhelming and anxiety provoking, but try and remain open to what you're learning without a specific narrative of how things should be or when they should happen."]

Announcing a new therapy group for CA residents! This is a space for anyone trans, nonbinary, or questioning who would like to explore and understand their identity better. Participants do not need to have read "Am I Trans Enough?" to participate (although it might be helpful!)

The group will be taking place online, Tuesdays 5pm - 6:30pm PST. It will run for 8 weeks from September 19 - November 14 (skipping the day of Halloween). I ask that participants commit to the full 8 weeks. It is $75/session with some sliding scale slots available. The group will top out at 8 participants.

Email me at [email protected] with any questions or to register.

Sharing incredibly powerful points around the cisnormative ideas imposed on affirming care.

We need to call out the harm of expecting community to wait, to sacrifice, life saving care to appease a cisgenderist standard that was designed to gatekeep and pathologise expansive genders.

Image description: a pink tile with a white box inside that has black text that reads if you immediately bought glasses after and eye test would people think you were "moving too fast?" Trans healthcare comes with the expectation that you will not and should not access what you need immediately. This is based on an external cis perspective of need that does not exist for Most other types of care

Today is the day! "Am I Trans Enough?" is out and for sale. If you enjoy the content of this page or if you've ever found it helpful then this book is a space where I go into detail and expand on these thoughts. I'm not confined by tiny Instagram squares!

It's all my best advice about how to know if you’re trans, why it’s so hard to figure out, and what to do about it. (Plus some bonus content of: now that you’ve accepted that you’re trans, what the hell do you do next?)

I appreciate you all coming along on this journey with me and I hope you enjoy it.
