ANNOUNCEMENT.!!! MARS ANALOG ASTRONAUTS, PIONEERS, VISIONEERS & EXPLORERS. AN OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN NEXT MAU-NEPAL MARS MEDICS CREW 002. High-Fidelity Analog Astronaut Training Mission!!! Testing and developing exponential technologies, Avatarmedic MRXR -robotic systems. Space Medicine, teleanesthesia-telesurgery simulations and human factors countermeasures, MAU alumni and colleagues, we are excited to announce MAU's next upcoming MAU-NEPAL MARS MEDICS CREW 002 High-Fidelity mission to Upper Mustang, Nepal,(approx 16,000ft) on 11th SEPTEMBER 2019 for approx 18 days. These missions are part of a multi-year MAU's Neamae Project. This mission will include a Wellness Program (with Mindfulness Medication-Yoga) and River Rafting Trek during the Pre-Simulation training days for crew bonding and acclimatization. WE HAVE ONE SPOT LEFT for a qualified person, ie, possess medical knowledge and/or mountaineering/climbing skills. to join as a crew member. Our previous successful mid-fidelity mission with MAU NEPAL Mars Medics Crew 001 was deployed at Lower Mustang, Nepal (10,000ft) in March 2019.

BIO: Janet Biggs BFA, is an American artist, known primarily for her work in video, photography and performance. An experienced analog astronaut and graduated with Marsacademyusacrew1121 - Mars Medics VI and a crew member of Mars Desert Research Station, MDRS Crew 181 as the Artist-in-Residence.and journalist. Janet lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Biggs' work often includes images of individuals in extreme landscapes or situations. Her earlier work dealt with issues of psychosis and psychotropic drugs. Her latest project explores the creation and loss of memory from personal, physical, and scientific perspectives. In addition to videos, her recent work includes multi-discipline performances, often including multiple large-scale videos, live musicians, and athletes. Biggs received her undergraduate degree from Moore College of Art, and pursued graduate studies at Rhode Island School of Design.She has had solo exhibitions and film screenings at the Musee d'art contemporain de Montréal; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden; the Armory Art Fair; Tampa Museum of Art; Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl; Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art; Mint Museum of Art; Everson Museum of Art; Gibbes Museum of Art; Rhode Island School of Design Museum; and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Australia; among others Her work has been featured in the first International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Cartagena, Colombia; the Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon, France; Vantaa Art Museum, Finland; Linkopings Konsthall, Passagen, Sweden; the Oberosterreichisches Landesmuseum, Austria; Kunstmuseum Bonn, Germany; Museo d'arte contemporanea Roma, Italy; and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan. BIO: Saran S***a is the Founder/ Managing Director/ Expedition leader/ Guide: born in the beautiful and mesmerizing hills of Darjeeling, Saran, already from childhood, had curiosity and love for the mountains and nature. This vividly grew into a deep passion for the Himalayas, which led him to take active participation on courses relating to Eco- tourism, Environmental studies and Mountaineering. After completing the educational essentials from a university in India, he entered the tourism business as a freelance guide. He worked for some of the world’s premier trekking companies in the beginning of his career, and now operates Hi On Life Adventures since 2004. Saran has guided and organized treks and expeditions in the Himalayas for soon 20 years. He has traveled extensively throughout Nepal, India, Tibet and Bhutan. His passion and knowledge of the mountains, nature, local traditions and culture, medicine and language has been appreciated by all people who has trekked with him. In addition, married to a Swede, he has also traveled to Sweden and Norway and loves trekking and kayaking with his friends and family whenever he is there on holidays. Dr Sarah Jane Pell is an artist and uniquely positioned as a commercial spaceflight candidate, spacesuit validation test pilot, and space VR designer. She expands her expertise as a commercial diver, performance artist, and interdisciplinary researcher by designing for critical play, human performance and expression in extreme environments. Pell currently collaborates with the Monash Immersive Visualisation Platform (MIVP) as an Adj. Associate Professor (Research), in the Faculty of Engineering, Engineering Office of the Dean, and the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture, Monash University. She is also the Vice-Chair of the International Astronautical Federation Technical Team for the Cultural Utilisation of Space, and former Chair of the European Space Agency Topical Team Art & Science, collaborator of the Exertion Games Lab, and SymbioticA: the art and biotechnology lab. Prestigious Awards include Australia Council Fellow, TED Fellow, and Gifted Citizen (Hon. Mention).

Dr Thomas Shiels MD is an Australian medical doctor with interests in space sciences, robotics and medical assistive technologies. He co-founded Nova Rover Team, a student project team at Monash University, Australia who designed, fabricated and competed with an original Mars rover at the University Rover Challenge 2018 at the Mars Desert Research Station placing 14th of 95. This is the only Australian team to ever qualify for this competition. Thomas also worked with the Melbourne Vascular Bionics group in developing a novel brain-computer interface. Thomas is interested in the development of space technologies to improve astronaut performance and safety."

Introducing Mars Academy USA, MAU NEPAL Mars Medics Crew 001 Dr Susan Ip-Jewell. CREW ASTRO- WELLNESS OFFICER & EXECUTIVE OFFICER. Susan is a veteran analog astronaut having been crew member of several MAU's Mars Medics missions including commandership of Mars Desert Research Station, MDRS- VR Crowd Explorers mission. Over the years, Susan as commanded several missions at Mars Society’s Mars Desert Research Station, MDRS with Crew 145, 151, 158, and 159. She has trained in building crew teams for exploratory expeditions and analog missions in isolated and extreme environments. She is the President of Mars Academy USA (MAU), a for-profit organization offering unique curated “experiential learning with exponential technologies” by deploying analog astronaut crews in fully immersive simulation missions in California. Susan trained in research and clinical medicine at the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI) in molecular medicine and drug discovery, and molecular therapeutics at UCLA Department of Molecular and Therapeutic Pharmacology. She is a graduate of International Space University (ISU), a recipient of a Google scholarship to attend Singularity University’s Graduate Studies Program (GSP15), at NASA Ames in San Francisco. She was a core leadership team for SU Los Angeles Chapter, SULA, a member of Aerospace Medical Association, Aerospace Human Factors Association, and Space Medicine Association. www.marsacademyusa.com
