Stress is part of life—but chronic stress can make it harder for our brains to focus, remember, make decisions, and regulate emotions.

One way to help your brain downshift? Yoga.

Yoga combines movement, breathing, body awareness, and mindfulness—giving you an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your body, and shift out of a high-stress state.

You don't need an hour-long class. Even 5–10 minutes of gentle yoga, stretching, and intentional breathing can be a meaningful reset between tasks.

Emotional regulation isn't about eliminating stress. It's about giving your brain the space to respond instead of react.

Try 5 minutes of yoga or mindful movement today. Notice how you feel before and after—and see if your brain feels more ready to engage.

Have you noticed that after hours of screens, homework, or work, your brain just feels….done?

We use directed attention when we have to deliberately focus, inhibit distractions, make decisions, or stay on task.
Attention Restoration Theory suggests that our directed attention can become fatigued–and that time outside, in nature can provide an opportunity to restore it.

Try this. Step outside, leave your phone behind, and spend 15-20 minutes noticing what you see, hear, and feel.
Watching waves
Looking at trees or clouds
Gardening
Watching birds

Try a nature reset today and tell us how your brain feels afterward.”

5 FOODS TO FEED YOUR BRAIN

There’s no single “superfood” that keeps your brain healthy. Research suggests that overall eating patterns matter more than any one food.

Try adding more of these brain-friendly foods to your meals:
🐟 Fatty fish — salmon, sardines, trout
🫐 Berries — blueberries, strawberries, raspberries
🥬 Leafy greens — spinach, kale, collards
🥜 Nuts & seeds — walnuts, almonds, chia, flax
🫘 Beans & legumes — lentils, chickpeas, black beans
These foods are staples of Mediterranean and MIND-style eating patterns, which emphasize foods that support brain and heart health.

The goal isn't perfection. It's patterns.
Small, consistent choices can help support your brain throughout your lifetime.

And don't forget hydration! Your brain depends on adequate fluids to function well, and even mild dehydration can affect attention, mood, and cognitive performance. Keep water nearby and make hydration part of your daily brain-wellness routine.
