How I’m coping with grief as a 58-year-old Healthy Aging Coach & Gerontologist
I’m not staying in bed all day.
I’m not drowning myself in alcohol, ice cream, or unhealthy coping mechanisms.
And please know… I’m not judging anybody who copes that way. Grief is incredibly hard and there is no “right” way to go through it.
But for me personally, I’m leaning on the same healthy aging habits I’ve coached women through for years:
✨ Exercising
✨ Lifting weights
✨ Meditation & Grounding
✨ Stretching
✨ Eating predominantly plant-based foods
✨ Prioritizing sleep & recovery
None of it takes the grief away.
None of it makes this easy.
But I truly believe these habits are helping support me physically, mentally, and emotionally through one of the hardest seasons of my life.
Healthy aging isn’t just about looking younger. It’s about building a strong mind and body that can carry you through life’s hardest moments. 🤍
