A bartholin's cyst does not always need treatment.

If it's small, soft and not painful it can often be left alone but you should still get it checked by your provider as it's not always what you think. Also if you are over 40, then biopsy may be indicated.

An emergency room can treat a painful bartholin's abscess but often the best treatment is from a women's health specialist as we see these more often. However, they can be excruciating and the wait to see your provider can be excruciatingly long as well so for many, their only choice is the emergency room.

While some irregular bleeding/spotting can happen when you start menopausal hormone therapy or change doses, it's always important to check in with your prescribing provider if not already discussed.

Post menopausal bleeding often has benign causes, but it can also be a sign something more severe is going on.

If you have PMOS (PCOS), going months without a period isn't something to ignore.

If you are not ovulating regularly but are being exposed to estrogen then the lining of the uterus can build up and can increase the risk of abnormal tissue (hyperplasia) which can turn eventually into cancer.

PMOS patients are often anovulatory but there are other causes of anovulation as well.

Remember though, you can still ovulate when you have PMOS but it can be unpredictable. So having PMOS does not mean you cannot get pregnant, it just makes it hard to track your cycle.

Small blood clots can be normal on your period but if your blood clots are larger than a quarter or if you are bleeding through your clothes, that's a sign you should talk to your doctor. It may just be a conversation and nothing more, but it's worth it to bring it up.

There are many causes of heavy bleeding such as fibroids, polyps, endometriosis and many more. There are also many treatments such as lysteda, hormonal IUDs, endometrial ablation and many more.

It's easy to brush off that "one heavy day" since it's only once a month but heavy periods can lead to anemia which should be treated and really no one wants to be spending that much money on extra period products and underwear replacement.

Breakthrough bleeding on the birth control pill can be frustrating but it doesn't mean your pill isn't working to prevent pregnancy

Spotting or bleeding can happen even when the pill is still effectively preventing pregnancy, especially when starting a new pill, taking the pill continuously or occasionally taking one later than usual.

If the bleeding is persistent or heavy or it happens every month, it's something you want to further discuss with your healthcare provider.

Understanding your fertile window is important if you are trying to conceive or trying to prevent pregnancy.

It's a 5 day window up to ovulation as s***m is viable for 5 days. Ovulation tends to be around day 14 but not for everyone and not for every cycle.

The highest rates of pregnancy occur 2 days prior to ovulation to ovulation.

Cervical cancer can cause bleeding after s*x, but most bleeding after s*x is caused by other things.

Most causes are easily treatable with the right diagnosis but that requires getting properly evaluated.
