Starting January 1, 2027, some Medi-Cal members will need to renew their coverage every 6 months instead of once a year.

This change applies to adults who:
👤 Are 19 to 64 years old
👶 Do not have children younger than 19

If this applies to you, Medi-Cal will send you a renewal notice in the mail.

L.A. Care is now accepting applications for our Health and Digital Literacy Grants!

These grants will support community-based organizations that help Los Angeles County residents understand their health coverage, navigate BenefitsCal, complete renewal steps and stay informed about new Medi-Cal requirements.

The funding opportunity is part of Keep L.A. Covered, our multi-year initiative to help Medi-Cal members stay covered and connected to care.
Grant awards of up to $75,000 are available for organizations with a single site, and awards of up to $300,000 are available for organizations with multiple sites.

Organizations interested in applying are highly encouraged to attend the information session on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11 a.m.

Applications are due Monday, June 22, 2026, by 4 p.m.

L.A. Care Health Plan and UCLA Health's Sound Body Sound Mind program recently opened two new fitness centers at Jackson Middle School and Paramount Park Middle School in Paramount.

For Paramount Park — a school with no outdoor field or dedicated recreational space — this isn't just an upgrade. It's a first.

These fitness centers are part of a $266,000 investment that has now brought modern wellness infrastructure to five Los Angeles-area schools this school year, including Pacoima Middle School, Bret Harte Middle School, and Ralph J. Bunche Middle School.

Each space comes with updated PE curriculum and professional development for teachers — because we're not just installing equipment. We're building something that lasts.

Research is clear: regular physical activity reduces anxiety, lowers stress, and builds emotional resilience. For students navigating the pressures of adolescence in under-resourced communities, a fitness center at school isn't a luxury. It's access.

L.A. Care hosted its inaugural ECM Provider Collaborative Conference on May 27, 2026, bringing together our Enhanced Care Management network for a day of learning, connection, and collaboration.

This week, we welcomed community-based organizations, providers, and care teams from across Los Angeles County to share insights, strengthen partnerships, and celebrate the impact they make every day. 🌟 While policies, programs, and systems continue to evolve, one thing remains constant: the people doing this work and the lives they help change.

The conference provided an opportunity for ECM partners to connect with peers, exchange best practices, tackle shared challenges, and prepare for the future of whole-person care. 🏡✨
