“It’s been a heck of a ride into the darkness of illness taking control without my permission!”

This is a real life story that’s unfolding of a man who loved the life he had created, until a season of change came on unexpectedly.
It’s real even for me…”yup” as my sister used to say!

But for now, I’m doing all I can do to remain positive, find the strength to walk and dance my way through the UCLA Medical Center hallways for another day now..16 days in totality.

As I am in the UCLA hospital system for over one month now, I’m continuing to improve slowly from the extensive emergency surgery as well as to heal from the heart attacks and strokes as well.
I continue to hold onto patience, trust, faith, love and gratitude during this season of many unknowns.

As this new day is here, I’m focused on my daily self care routine I have created for myself while here in the rehab center.
Strengthening my body and heart is my number one goal to help avoid another attack that sets me back or takes me out.
I have made adjustments to my exercise routine due to the chronic pain I now have in my gut and legs.
I have also made adjustments to nutrition to up-level if that’s even possible!
Thank each of you for the kindness, compassion, concern, grace and Love shared with me daily as well as the prayers.
I ask of you one thing…no matter what, keep shining your light for yourself + others.

Well beautiful family…as the sun set on this weekend, I am filled up with so much love and gratitude beyond! 💜🫶
A weekend filled with magic coming from the deep loving soul connection with Ellyn McLeod who spent time with me at the rehab center I’m at.
I got permission for a once a week field trip for 4 hours…so YES I took my field trip with Ellyn for a wonderful walk and breathing room outside of the environment I’m in for a few months.
So many positive emotions to embrace and process from our loving intimate time spent together connecting soul to sou🫶🙏
When I show up with my heart open filled with love, authenticity, kindness + compassion I receive the gift of Gratitude!

Plus the bonus of having my head shaved!! lol

What a beautiful surprise to receive a video call in the hospital bed today from a longtime viewer of Real Men Real Talk Live TV Show all the way from Australia!
It’s been so long since Bronni Fisher and I had connected and did we ever connect today 💜 to 💜! It was such a beautiful moment to share back and forth with a bit of tears and laughter as well!

Today has been an interesting day! As I’m still in UCLA Medical Center Day 14, I am literally going stir crazy. So I got out of bed grabbed the walker and had a nurse take me on a walk about on the hospital floor. I turned on my music and felt pulled to dance my way on this therapeutic experience rather than the usual slow and steady walk about. The nurse was beyond happy as I listened to a lil old school Commodore’s and than Barry White! We laughed and this changed the trajectory of my 14th day here.
I also put on my shades to “cut down the glare” of the sun permeating the floor and finally felt a bit like me!!
This all comes on the heals of a dear friend John… A Real Man who invited me on a video call just 30 minutes prior to say the opening to the show. That lifted my spirit and literally had me dancing down the hallway today!

And once I’m out, I hope to bring RMRTL back for reunion shows and beyond. What do you think about that?

As I adjust to this very challenging environment, I am focusing on remaining positive to my best ability.

Simple Not Easy…
