Today's environment is loaded with stressors!
Now is a perfect time to discover what stress is, how it works, and how to manage it. Some people wish for a stress-free life, but not all stress is bad. Without stress, there would be no growth. Too much pressure and emotional stress turn into physical stress, which, when chronic, causes system failure and severe disease.
There are four types of emotional stress:
1. Anticipatory Stress.
2. Acute Stress.
3. Chronic Stress.
4. Eustress.
Positive stress counters negative stress, just like two waves mingling and opposing each other. If the positive stress (wave) is larger than the negative stress (wave), forwarding progress, and enhanced wellbeing are the result! The opposite is true for most people.
Just thinking about stressful events causes stress!
The three most common sources of stress are; health problems, relationship issues, and money worries. The more we worry about something, the more it tends to enhance the stress, which becomes a self-reinforcing cycle.
We all know that eating well, exercise and relaxation are part of a stress reduction program. What is less known is that identifying and solving the core problem, discussing it with a trusted friend, and getting into action on it are critical!
