Millie Bobby Brown will forever be connected to Stranger Things, but she has also quite literally grown up in front of the world. Unfortunately, because so many of her most transformative years happened in the public eye, people have felt far too comfortable commenting on her appearance.

Although these symmetry posts are meant to show that everyone has asymmetry (and typically look better because of it!), the topic also touches on something similar: how quickly people judge and dissect someone based on the way they look.

Please remember that beauty is highly subjective and deeply personal. Everyone has their own definition of it, and no one should be criticized for simply growing, changing, or existing in their own skin.

Do you know what actually happens when you get a sunburn?  Why does it peel and how does it affect your skin health? Here’s a quick breakdown:

☢️ A sunburn is a radiation burn caused by too much UV exposure.

🧫 When the damage is too overwhelming, cells die, trigger inflammation, and can become cancerous.

🥵 Redness, pain, swelling, and peeling are your body responding to skin injury.

🧬 Every sunburn causes permanent DNA damage and increases your risk of melanoma.

🧴 Wearing SPF protects your skin at a cellular level - it’s not just for anti-aging.

Ryan Gosling’s look has evolved just as much as his career – who knew that the former Mickey Mouse Club member would grow up to be a multiple award-nominated actor?

But in La La Land, appearances are just a normal part of the conversation. Ryan has always had softer, more youthful features for most of his early career. Yet a few years ago, there was speculation that he may have had filler enhancement, particularly in the cheeks. His wife, Eva Mendes, is no stranger to aesthetic treatments – she has been open about her own journey and even posted about them. Could she have influenced Ryan?

Besides getting yearly full-body skin checks, you should also keep tabs on your moles throughout the year.  This checklist can help you determine if you should see a dermatologist sooner than your next yearly visit.

🧩 ASYMMETRY  One half of the mole does not match the other.

🫟 BORDER  The edges of the lesion are uneven, blurred, or notched.

🌗 COLOR  A mole that is more than one color.

📏 DIAMETER  Having a width of more than 6 mm.

⏳ EVOLVING  A lesion that changes in color, shape, size, elevation, or begins to crust or itch.

Keep in mind that these are generalizations – just because one of your moles has one of these features does not automatically mean it is skin cancer.  It does, however, mean you should contact your dermatologist to get it officially checked out.

I still remember seeing Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time on Growing Pains. Who would have guessed little Luke would become one of the most accomplished actors of his generation?

I’ve always found Mila Kunis to be an unconventional kind of beauty. There’s something striking about her features; they’re distinct, a little unexpected, and completely her own.

But even she challenges the idea that perfect symmetry equals perfection. Her subtle asymmetry adds character and individuality, which are qualities that are far more compelling than anything perfectly mirrored.

Aging isn’t only about time and sun exposure. There are many hidden factors – stress being one of them.

Photographer Lalage Snow explored this in her powerful series We Are The Not Dead, documenting British soldiers before, during, and after deployment in Afghanistan. The visible changes in their faces over just an 8-month time span were striking.

Although this is an extreme example, it’s a reminder to be gentle with yourself during difficult seasons. Major life stressors and transitions can take a real toll – not just emotionally, but physically as well.
