Water is for drinking, not for skincare. On Tuesday, we met with government officials from the Arusha region and told them about our treehouse project and how we build together with more than 70,000 incredible waterless beauty pioneers the fastest-growing waterless beauty company. We also talked about how we started the waterless beauty movement in the US, Canada, and soon, Europe. The water we don’t use for our products, we bring to the people of Africa by building wells. Because water is for drinking, not for skincare. They agreed, like millions of people in Tanzania as well and so we agreed to help another 90 villages in the Arusha region build wells. The next day, the Maasai warmly welcomed us to drill the first wells and gifted us with shuka, the traditional and colorful Maasai dress, as well as traditional goat legs. We then drank a Pepsi, and after about 85 meters, we struck water. I was asked what distinguishes the people of Tanzania from Europeans, and my answer was that I find them very relaxed, authentic, inspiring and down-to-earth. With our “Water for Africa” project, we’re not involved in development aid or charity work, but rather creating a cycle and relationships based on equality. What we receive in the form of inspiration, experience, and education isn’t about “giving back”, it’s a balanced partnership.
Many thanks to the television crews who accompanied us, and especially to the fantastic team at Arusha Zone TV.
