This is such a busy time of year. We can get caught up in what we’ve accomplished and what we haven’t. Comparison can eat away at our core and a deeper questioning of your truest self can settle in – especially as the chatter of the impending new year lights up your feed.

Minds clear, intentions set.

On the last day of the retreat w/ , I spoke about self-compassion. As Kristin Neff, PhD, explains, there are three elements of self-compassion.

Self-compassion allows us to hold space for and recognize that all humans have flaws. We are all works in progress. We are not alone in both the highs and lows. We have each other ❤️

✨This will be 90 min of movement (and a little opening up!) to help you find your best placement, breath, precision, and control to keep your back safe and healthy when taking Pilates!

Find the simple things that bring peace and ease for a few moments each day ✨

Join me next Saturday, 3/19, for my upcoming workshop called RITUAL, from 11:00a - 12:30p in Redondo Beach.

Including rituals in our routine, whether at home or work, can help ground us, increase focus, and reduce stress. How we define and embrace these patterns and practices into our daily lives will allow us to cultivate more play and rest!

This workshop will teach various simple breathwork techniques and plenty of mindful movement creating heat in the body. You will also learn restorative and self-myofascial release practices that you can implement daily to help restore blood flow, alleviate upper back and neck tension, and combat burnout.

*small RITUAL journal for each student is included

“When our self-awareness starts deepening, one of the things we begin to understand is that much of who we are and how we see the world is formed through the accumulation of past moments of intense emotion– moments that leave their mark on the subconscious and predispose us to repeating certain behaviors/emotions that are similar to what we have felt in the past.

When traveling inward there are times when we hit a particularly rocky layer of the mind, a sediment of conditioning that has been so thickly reinforced that it takes patience and persistence for it to soften and release.

It is when we begin our efforts to develop our self-awareness through an introspective practice– like a form of effective meditation or therapy, that the stories/patterns that are so firm and invisible begin to soften and come up to the surface for release. The same way we can accumulate patterns, we can also let them go. Healing is possible.” ~yung pueblo
