This week, I was invited and selected by the State of California-Department of Education (Sacramento Main Offices) as a part of the Standard Setting Panel, to approve all test items and thresholds for the CAST. As a panel member (among more than 35 school districts across the state), I was honored to sit and set the assessment threshold and scores of the California Science Test-CASSPP 2019-2020 Implementation. The work that we did here will impact the threshold for the next 10 plus years in the teaching of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for all children in our state. I just landed at Burbank Airport after a grueling week of arguing and debating on issues that affect our schools for many years.
