Oui Smile Pediatric Dentistry

Oui Smile Pediatric Dentistry Pediatric dental office that elevates and transforms the dental experience for children.

When parents walk into Oui Smile Pediatric Dentistry, I want them to feel something different.
I want them to feel calm.
I want children to feel safe.
And I want every family to know that every detail was thoughtfully designed with them in mind.
As a startup practice owner, my day starts long before the first patient arrives. From selecting the music and aromatics to preparing the team and making sure every space feels welcoming, creating a positive dental experience begins before a single tooth is examined.
As both a pediatric dentist and a mom, I know that a child’s first impressions matter. That’s why I built Oui Smile to be more than a dental office—it’s a space where children can feel comfortable, parents can feel heard, and positive dental memories can begin.
Because fear-free dentistry isn’t just what we do—it’s the foundation of everything we create.
✨ Welcome to a different kind of pediatric dental experience.

Nanohydroxyappetite
🦷 Nano-Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste for Kids: Why Dr. Garcia Doesn’t Recommend It
Nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) has become a popular ingredient in some “natural” toothpastes and is often marketed as an alternative to fluoride. While it may sound appealing, Dr. Garcia prefers to recommend products with decades of research supporting their safety and effectiveness in children.
One concern with nano-hydroxyapatite is its extremely small particle size. These particles are designed to interact with the tooth surface, but research has shown that nano-sized particles can also be taken up by cells. Once absorbed by cells, they may be transported to different areas of the body. More long-term research is needed to better understand the potential effects of this process, particularly in growing children.
Another concern is that nano-hydroxyapatite particles can clump together, which may limit their ability to evenly adhere to and remineralize enamel as effectively as advertised.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Garcia believes that when it comes to children’s oral health, safety and proven outcomes come first. Fluoride toothpaste remains the gold standard for cavity prevention and enamel strengthening based on decades of scientific evidence.
Every child is unique, and the best toothpaste choice depends on age, cavity risk, and individual needs. If you have questions about which toothpaste is right for your child, we’re always happy to help.
💜 Healthy smiles start with informed decisions.

The scientific community continues to study nano-hydroxyapatite, and opinions may differ among dental professionals. What parents think causes cavities 👇
❌ Candy once in a while
❌ Birthday cake at parties
❌ Chocolate milk
What actually causes cavities 👇
⚠️ Frequent snacking all day
⚠️ Sipping juice or milk for long periods
⚠️ Sticky crackers, Goldfish, and puffs that cling to teeth
⚠️ Going to bed without brushing
The truth? It’s usually not one piece of candy that causes cavities. It’s how often teeth are exposed to sugars and carbohydrates throughout the day.
✨ Small changes in daily habits can make a huge difference in protecting your child’s smile.
Save this post for later and share it with another parent who might be surprised by this!

🤍 Silver Crowns vs. White Crowns: Which Is Best for Your Child? 🦷
One of the most common questions Dr Garcia hears as a pediatric dentist is:
“Can my child get a white crown instead of a silver one?”
Amazing question! White crowns can blend beautifully with your child’s smile, and many parents prefer the esthetic look.
But here’s something many people don’t realize: white crowns aren’t always the best option for every child.
✨ White zirconia crowns are extremely strong, but that strength can sometimes become a concern for children who grind their teeth. Over time, grinding may cause wear on the opposing natural teeth and increase the risk of sensitivity or damage.
✨ White crowns also require a more precise technique and often take longer to place. For some children, that extra chair time can be challenging.
✨ For front teeth, white crowns are often an excellent option because they provide a natural-looking smile and can help support a child’s confidence.
The most important thing to know is that there is no one size fits all approach in pediatric dentistry. Every child has different needs, habits, and risk factors.
When Dr Garcia recommends a specific treatment, it’s never about what’s easiest, it’s about what will best protect your child’s oral health for years to come. 💜
Have you ever wondered why your child’s dentist recommended one type of crown over another? Let us know your questions below! 👇

As parents, we often think snacks like Goldfish and Ritz crackers are a “better” choice than gummy bears 🍪🧸
But here’s the truth: sticky, starchy snacks can be just as harmful, sometimes even worse for your child’s teeth. These snacks break down into sugars and cling to the grooves of teeth for long periods of time, feeding cavity causing bacteria all day long 🦷
The biggest issue isn’t always the candy… it’s how often our kids are snacking and what stays stuck on their teeth.
✨ Better snack habits:
• Offer snacks at set times instead of grazing all day
• Encourage water after snacks
• Brush especially well before bedtime
• Choose tooth friendly snacks when possible
Small changes can make a huge difference in preventing cavities 🩵💜

Have you been told your child will “grow out of” their teeth grinding? 🦷💤
Sometimes that may not be the full story.
Persistent grinding can be a sign that something deeper (like airway or sleep-related concerns) should be evaluated instead of simply waiting for it to pass.

At the Dr. Garcia’s household, brushing teeth morning & night is NON-NEGOTIABLE 😂🪥 Even Zeno can’t negotiate his way out of it. He’d much rather stay cozy in bed, but plaque doesn’t care about bedtime excuses lol 😴✨

05/07/2026

Dr. Garcia and Zeno had to join this trend… but in true Oui Smile fashion, they made it their own ✨ Never following the crowd, always creating their own rhythm 🥁 That’s the beauty of individualized care at Oui Smile, every smile is treated uniquely, because no two patients are the same. 💫

Make sure your sound is on… his little snorts have all the kids giggling 🤍
Zeno absolutely loves being petted, his favorite spot is right on top of his head. The moment you start, he melts and falls right asleep.
Our patients can’t get enough of him, and honestly, we can’t either 🐾
