🧠🌿 Event Alert!

If you work with neurodivergent clients, or you are neurodivergent and have ever felt like eating disorder treatment just wasn’t built for you, this one’s for you.

Join us on June 27th for The ED-ND Overlap, a powerful conversation with Emily Curley, MA, LMFT (.does.therapy) an AuDHDer and eating disorder specialist with 10+ years of experience across all levels of care.

Emily will unpack how sensory needs, executive dysfunction, and interoceptive differences shape the neurodivergent experience of eating disorders, and why standard treatment models so often miss the mark. You’ll leave with practical, affirming strategies to build truly individualized care that honors client autonomy and lived experience.

🗓 June 27, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
📍 Align-ED Care, Encino
✅ CEs provided by Re-Discovering You, sponsored by APA

Light refreshments included. Space is limited, link in bio to register!

We’re grateful to have Kaley Leshem Psychotherapy as an LAEDC sponsor!

Based in the Sawtelle neighborhood of West LA, Kaley and her team provide individual, couples, and family therapy for children, teens, and adults.

Their work is trauma-informed and grounded in a relational psychodynamic approach, focusing on understanding patterns, strengthening relationships, and supporting meaningful, lasting change.

Big news from their practice: associate therapist Marissa Kugler is newly licensed and currently accepting clients! She specializes in working with teens and has a particular interest in family therapy. 🎉

Fun fact: when Kaley isn’t in session, you might spot her and therapy dog Oliver hiking, exploring new neighborhoods, or checking out local coffee shops. 🐾☕

A huge thank you to our sponsor, Robyn Goldberg ! 🙌

As a non-diet, weight-inclusive nutrition therapist, Robyn L. Goldberg, RDN, CEDS-C helps her clients develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. Her goal is to help individuals reconnect to their natural sense of attunement with their bodies and to eradicate any sense of guilt, shame, or fear around food. Robyn works with kids, tweens, teens, and adults, both in person and virtually. She’s the author of The Eating Disorder Trap: A Guide for Clinicians and Loved Ones, co-author of the online course Your Recovery Resource, and host of The Eating Disorder Trap Podcast. What inspires her work is seeing people who want to live full lives and she loves bringing laughter and humor into her sessions.

When she’s not supporting clients, you’ll find her cycling, traveling, or being “Aunt Robyn” to her neighbor’s dogs. 🚴‍♀️✈️🐶 We’re so grateful for your support of our community! 💛

A huge thank you to our sponsor, Lightfully Behavioral Health! 🙌

specializes in primary mental health treatment for adults and teens experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and other complex mental health challenges. Many of their clients also experience co-occurring concerns such as disordered eating or the impact of weight stigma, which they address as part of their whole-person centered care approach. Their programs include Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Virtual PHP and Virtual IOP, with locations in Westwood, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Thousand Oaks, North County San Diego, and the Bay Area.

Using their Precision Care Model, Lightfully’s clinicians personalize care by drawing from evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, and others to target the underlying processes driving suffering and help clients build meaningful, lasting change. Their mission is simple: changing lives, compassionately. We’re so grateful for your support of our community! 💛

📚 April Monthly Meetup: Mini Book Club

We’re diving into “Food Mad: The Nutritional Neuroscience of a Starved Brain” by Victoria Schonwald NZRD, a powerful 2026 release that reframes eating disorders as biological crises of the brain, not problems of willpower.

Our co-host will facilitate a rich discussion exploring themes from the book and how they shape the way we frame care.

You don’t need to have finished or have read the book to join, come for the conversation and community!

📅 Wednesday, April 29th
🕣 8:30–10:30 AM
📍 LPQ Larchmont | 113 N Larchmont Blvd

This is an intimate gathering limited to 10 participants. RSVP at the link in bio to save your spot!

Can’t make it this month? Our May Meetup is going virtual, stay tuned!

As practitioners, we hold space for the unknown every day. Lately, that’s been feeling… different.

Collective grief. Systemic injustice. Shifting norms. And through it all, we show up for our clients as they navigate their own deeply personal versions of this ambiguity.

So this month, we’re showing up for each other.

Join us for a Walk & Talk through Palisades Park in Santa Monica, where we’ll reflect, share, and move through the uncertainty together.

🗓 Sunday, March 22nd
🕙 10AM – 12PM
📍 Palisades Park, Santa Monica
🎙 Facilitated by Cori Rosenthal, LMFT (she/her)

To keep things intimate and connected, we’re opening this one to just 6 participants. RSVP using the link in our bio.

Can’t make it this month? Stay tuned for our April Meetup: a mini book club co-hosted by Dr. Lauren Muhlheim in Mid-City!

Monthly Meetups will continue throughout the year with a variety of formats, group sizes, locations, and times to expand accessibility.
We look forward to building community with you ~
