Take a look at these INSANE numbers. Specifically, look at the difference between the person at 40% body fat and the one at 10% body fat. They both weigh 200lbs. There is a 700 calorie PER Day DIFFERENCE in METABOLIC RATE!!! 😡😳 This is SOLELY because of the increased muscle mass.

This means the 10% person can eat 700 calories more PER DAY and stay 200lbs. This also translates to 70 pounds PER YEAR in increased metabolic burn compared to the 40% person. This is also the equivalent of a 7-mile walk/run BUILT into their system, that happens while sitting! Muscle is constantly burning calories. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Also, this means the person at 10% fat could eat 1860 calories per day and create a 700 calorie deficit, meaning they would lose 1 pound of fat every 5 days! Whereas if the 40% person eats 1860, they stay the exact same. The rich get richer and the lean get leaner! πŸ’²πŸ€‘πŸ’°

200lb person at 40% body fat = 1860 calories burned per day
200lb person at 35% body fat = 1980 calories burned per day
200lb person at 30% body fat = 2090 calories burned per day
200lb person at 25% body fat = 2200 calories burned per day
200lb person at 20% body fat = 2330 calories burned per day
200lb person at 15% body fat = 2450 calories burned per day
200lb person at 10% body fat = 2560 calories burned per day

So what does this mean for you? Add STRENGTH TRAINING to your routine. It's a MUST. Cardio and diet burns calories right then and there but does absolutely ZERO for your metabolism. You MUST add muscle for long-term success! πŸ€›πŸ½

And ladies, you WILL NOT become bulky. 1 pound of muscle is half the size as 1 pound of fat. You will simply be smaller and toned! πŸ’ͺ🏽

Focus on form! Poor form can cause more injury and inhibit strength gains. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

Favor control over momentum! Relying on momentum can undercut gains; tempo keeps you in control.

Give your muscles proper time off! Muscles grow stronger when the little tears have time to properly heal. πŸ’―

With the July 4th holiday coming up there are tons of ways to keep your veggie intake up! Try making these fun summer salads for your BBQ!

Leafy greens, butternut squash, red onion, roasted beets, feta, and pumpkin seeds, with a balsamic vinaigrette.

Cucumbers, sweet onions, fresh tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and a sweet vinaigrette.
