May 11, 1981, is a date Beverly Robinson, R.N., at Norton Hospital, still remembers clearly. It was the beginning of a career that would span more than four decades and take her through many different areas of patient care.
Beverly started as a float nurse aide while working toward her nursing degree. After becoming a registered nurse, she continued to grow into new roles, caring for patients in medical/surgical care, postanesthesia care, psychiatric care, endocrinology, preoperative care and radiology.
Each move brought a new chapter. One change, into psychiatric care, also gave Beverly the flexibility she needed to get her son to school, a reminder of how closely work and life can intertwine over a long career.
This summer, Beverly retired after 45 years of service. Across every role and every transition, she built a career defined by adaptability, commitment and care for others.
Thank you, Beverly, for 45 years of dedication to our patients and colleagues. Congratulations on your retirement and the start of this well earned next chapter.
