The Louisville Zoo, Kentucky’s State Zoo, opened on May 1, 1969. What began with about 250 animals has grown into a major community attraction with more than 1,100 animals and beautiful natural habitats. (Louisville Zoo⁠)

The Zoo is much more than a place to see animals. It provides opportunities to learn about wildlife, enjoy nature, spend quality time with family and friends, and understand the importance of protecting our planet.
