MYOFASCIAL RELEASE: less force, more listening.

Myofascial Release is a hands-on massage therapy modality that works with the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports the muscles and other structures throughout the body.

When fascia becomes restricted from repetitive movement, stress, posture, injury, or simply the way we use our bodies, it can contribute to that feeling of tightness, limited movement, or “something just doesn’t feel right.”

Myofascial work is different from traditional massage.

The pressure is often slow and sustained. Instead of digging into tissue or constantly moving over it, steady contact is used and then waiting for the tissue to respond.

No forcing.
No rushing.
No trying to overpower the body.

Just intentional contact, attention to the tissue, and time.

Myofascial Release may be especially helpful when you’re dealing with:
• Chronic neck, shoulder, or back tension
• Jaw tension
• Restricted range of motion
• Areas that always seem to “tighten back up”
• Post-workout or repetitive-use tension
• Recovery after injury

And sometimes the place that hurts isn’t the place that needs the most attention. That’s why myofascial work looks at how the body is connected rather than treating everything as an isolated problem.

Myofascial Release is available at Soul + Soma Massage in Louisville, Colorado.

August in the Treatment Room 🌿

Myrrh + Sandalwood

Warm. Earthy. Grounding.

This month’s blend is all about creating a little more quiet in the room and a little more peace in your body.

Myrrh and sandalwood have long been associated with grounding, reflection, and a sense of calm. The kind of scent that makes you take one slower breath without even thinking about it.

August feels like the perfect time to take that deeper breath.

Come in. Exhale. Let the day get a little quieter.

A little kindness goes a long way. ❤️

One of my amazing clients recently made an incredibly generous decision.

She had two prepaid 90-minute massage sessions that she won’t be using, and instead of requesting a refund, she asked if they could be gifted to someone who could truly benefit from them.

We’re looking to gift a nurse, caregiver, or someone experiencing financial hardship who could use a little time to rest, recover, and feel cared for.

Please send a DM with a few of your details and I’ll thoughtfully select two recipients by August 5th.

There is so much good in our community, and I’m grateful to witness moments like this.

Thank you to my generous client for paying it forward.

The past couple of weeks have been full in the best way.

I traded the day-to-day for sunsets, the sea, moving my body, incredible conversations, and a little adventure through Greece and Italy. It was the kind of trip that reminds you how important it is to slow down, be present, and refill your own cup.

As someone who spends my days helping others feel better, this retreat was a beautiful reminder that wellness isn’t just what happens on the massage table. It’s found in movement, meaningful conversations, nourishing food, exploring new places, deep breaths, and giving yourself permission to simply be.

One of my favorite takeaways from this trip was seeing how naturally rest is woven into daily life. Long dinners, afternoon swims, walking instead of rushing, and making time to connect with people. It reminded me that slowing down isn’t falling behind. It’s often exactly what our bodies and minds need.

I’m back in the treatment room feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful, bringing a renewed perspective into every session. Thank you for being here, whether you’ve been following along on my travels or are just joining me now.

Here’s to slowing down, so we can show up more fully for ourselves and for the people we care for. 🤍

Testimonial Tuesday 💛

This review is extra special because it came from my very first client. We met when I was still an intern, and a year later she’s still trusting me with her care.

As a massage therapist, there’s no greater compliment than having someone choose you again and again through every season of life and business.

Your trust means everything, and I’m honored to be part of your wellness journey.

☀️ The “Summer Slump” is Real For Your Glutes! 🍑

Did you know your glutes do way more than just look good? As the largest muscle group in your body, your glutes (Maximus, Medius, and Minimus) are your literal powerhouses.

Whether you are logging long road trips, taking cross-country flights, or just lounging by the pool on a deck chair, all that extra sitting causes your hip flexors to tighten up.

Don’t let summer travel stall your progress! Stand up, stretch it out, and keep those glutes firing. 🔥

We’re halfway through the year.

For many people, stress has been building quietly for months through work, family responsibilities, schedules, and everyday life.

One of the most powerful benefits of massage isn’t what happens to your muscles. It’s what happens to your nervous system.

Focusing on the shoulders, neck, jaw, and areas where stress accumulates can help:
• Lower stress levels
• Improve sleep quality
• Support nervous system regulation
• Increase mental clarity and focus

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is give your body permission to slow down.
