Do you leave family gatherings feeling completely drained?

Sometimes it isn’t the gathering itself. You may be monitoring everyone’s moods, absorbing their emotions, and quietly working to keep the entire family comfortable.

That’s a tremendous amount of emotional labor.

You can love your family without carrying everyone’s feelings home with you. Before your next gathering, pause and ask: “What am I feeling—and what belongs to someone else?”

I’m Deanna Gloyd, the Empath’s Akashic Records Mentor. I help sensitive people strengthen their emotional boundaries, understand their energy, and trust their intuition.

Do you feel guilty setting boundaries with your family—even when saying yes leaves you emotionally drained?

Many empaths were taught that keeping the family comfortable was their responsibility. But guilt doesn’t always mean you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes it means you’re finally doing something different.

Ask yourself: “Am I actually hurting someone—or am I simply no longer abandoning myself to keep them comfortable?”

You’re allowed to love your family and still protect your peace.

Does this question hit home for you?

Do you dread being around certain family members… even when you love them?

Sometimes it isn’t that you don’t want to see them. Your body already knows how much energy it takes to be around them.

You may start watching everyone’s mood, adjusting yourself, or trying to keep the peace before anything has even happened.

That feeling may not be telling you to avoid your family.

It may be telling you that you need a boundary before you walk through the door.

Have you ever felt this with family?

There was a lot of activity showing on the Schumann Resonance over the past 24 hours, followed by a much quieter period.

I noticed a real difference myself. I felt clearer, more productive, and much more settled today.

I’m curious — did you notice agitation, restlessness, or hyper-focus earlier, followed by relief or release?

Do you struggle to express your feelings in relationships because you’re worried about how someone else will react?

You may have spent years noticing every shift in someone’s mood, softening your truth to keep the peace, and saying you’re fine when you’re not.

That isn’t proof that you’re too emotional.

It may mean you’ve learned to manage everyone else’s feelings before making room for your own.

Three signs you’re carrying too much emotional responsibility:

1. You notice the energy in the room before anyone says a word.
2. You adjust yourself to keep other people comfortable.
3. You can’t relax until everyone around you feels better.

The next time the emotional atmosphere changes, pause and ask:

Is this feeling mine?
Did I bring it with me?
Am I managing someone else’s reaction?

You can care about someone without becoming responsible for their emotions.

You’re not too emotional. You’ve been carrying too much—and you’re learning that you don’t have to carry everyone anymore.

Save this for the next time you find yourself managing someone else’s feelings.

Do you ever hold back what you’re really feeling because you’re afraid it will upset someone else?

Empaths often learn to keep the peace by suppressing their own emotions.

But your feelings are information. You don’t have to make everyone else comfortable at the expense of yourself.

Start noticing what you feel before you automatically push it down.

Empaths, do you ever hold back what you’re really feeling because you’re afraid it will upset someone else?

You may have learned that keeping the peace, staying quiet, or protecting someone else’s emotions was the “kind” thing to do.

But being compassionate doesn’t mean abandoning yourself.

You’re allowed to have feelings.
You’re allowed to disagree.
You’re allowed to say when something hurts.

Sometimes the belief that you have to protect everyone else emotionally isn’t actually yours to carry.

Empaths — have you ever stopped and wondered, “Is this belief actually mine?”

Sometimes we carry beliefs, fears, expectations, or even someone else’s voice for so long that it begins to feel like part of us.

But not everything you learned, absorbed, or inherited has to stay with you.

Start noticing the thoughts that feel heavy, restrictive, or strangely familiar. Ask yourself:

Where did I learn this?
Who did this belong to first?
And do I still choose to believe it now?

Awareness is where change begins. 💗

Empaths, did today feel unusually hectic — like everything and everyone was coming at you at once?

Tonight’s Schumann Resonance chart showed several short, intense bursts of activity, and I heard a real-world example of someone experiencing an unusually nonstop, hectic day.

I’m not saying the chart caused it — but when unusual activity lines up with similar experiences from sensitive people, I pay attention to the pattern.

If you’re an empath, remember to ask yourself: “Was I feeling this way five minutes ago?” Sometimes that one question can help you separate what’s yours from what you may be picking up around you.

Empaths, did your mood suddenly change today for no obvious reason?

Before you assume the feeling is yours, ask yourself:

Was I feeling this way five minutes ago?

Sensitive people can pick up the emotions and energy around them without realizing it.

Pause. Notice what changed. Then ask:

Is this actually mine?

That one question can bring a surprising amount of clarity.
