🚨 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU WAKE UP WITH A UTI?

You wake up with burning, urgency, and that “I need to go again” feeling… but you don't want to wait several days for a primary care appointment or sit in an urgent care waiting room.

With Direct Primary Care, getting evaluated can be much simpler. ❤️

Here’s what it can look like at Jessica Gerner, NP – Direct Primary Care:

📞 Call or message me.
If you're a DPC member, you can reach out directly through HIPAA-compliant messaging or by phone.

🗓️ Get seen the same day or next day when available.
No waiting weeks to get on the schedule.

💻 Telehealth may also be an option.
Depending on your symptoms and situation, we may be able to start your evaluation virtually.

🧪 Need a urine test?
You can provide a urine sample in the office. A urine dip is included with your visit.

If a urine culture is needed, it can be sent to the lab. The culture has a $15 additional fee, if you dont have insurance. We always let you know a head of time if any additional fees will occur.

💊 Medication may be available right here in the office.
When appropriate, certain medications can be dispensed in-office, so you may be able to leave with your medication in hand instead of making another stop at the pharmacy.

🏠 Then you can go home and get back to your day.

That's one of the benefits of DPC: more access, more time, and fewer barriers between you and your primary care provider.

And of course, if your symptoms suggest something more serious or you need a higher level of care, I'll help you determine the appropriate next step.

⏰ So…what are appointments like at a Direct Primary Care practice?

One of the biggest differences you’ll notice with DPC is TIME. ❤️

When you become a member of my practice, your appointments aren’t about rushing you in and out the door.

🩺 Your first appointment is typically 1–1½ hours.
This gives me time to get to know you, learn about your health history, understand your concerns, and—most importantly—learn what matters to YOU.

📅 Follow-up appointments are time-based.
As I get to know my patients, I generally have a good idea of how much time we’ll need for different types of visits. You can also choose the amount of time you feel you need when scheduling.

Maybe you need 15 minutes to check in about a medication.
Maybe you need 30 minutes to discuss several concerns.
Or maybe you need more time for something more complicated.

The goal is to make the appointment fit the patient—not squeeze the patient into a predetermined time slot.

One of the reasons DPC practices can offer this type of care is that they tend to be smaller practices with fewer patients, allowing for more meaningful time between the patient and provider.

And communication doesn’t have to wait until your next appointment!

One question I get is: “Are you more into modern medicine, or do you take a holistic approach?”

Honestly? I’m somewhere in the middle. And I believe healthcare shouldn’t be about choosing one approach for everyone.

At Jessica Gerner, NP – Direct Primary Care, I focus on YOU, your health, and your goals.

Sometimes medication is the right choice. Sometimes lifestyle changes, nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, or other non-medication approaches may be appropriate. And sometimes, the best plan is a combination of both.

My job is to:

✔️ Explain your options
✔️ Discuss the benefits and potential risks
✔️ Answer your questions
