Spotlight on Ethically created small-batch local personal care:
The handcrafted industry is largely comprised of small and emerging businesses. 95% of which are women-owned with less than three employees, according to the Handmade Soap and Cosmetic Guild, of which Red Antler has been a member for more than a decade.
While individual businesses may be small, together, there are more than 250,000 of them nationwide, employing more than 750,000 people.
Small soap and cosmetic businesses do not invent new ingredients; they use safe ingredients, blending them into small batches of custom, handcrafted products.
Most ingredients in handcrafted products are food-grade and can be found in any grocery store, unlike "BIG cosmetic" companies whose ultimate goal is making massive amounts of money and growing as large as possible so that executives and investors can become even richer. Can you think of any class action suits against large corporations for using toxic ingredients that injured their consumers, regardless of knowing full well that the ingredients would inevitably harm?
