✨ Plant Power Monday ✨ We love plants over here at Tumblew**d Botanicals and today we are giving some love to the Bull Thistle aka Cirsium vulgare 🌱

Most people see it and want to pull it out. It gets called invasive. A w**d. Unwanted. 🥺 And yet every single year it shows back up, blooming like it has absolutely nothing to prove and nowhere else to be. 💪
And here is the thing about a plant that keeps showing up no matter what. It is usually showing up for a reason. 🤔

Healers knew it. They brewed the roots into tea for stomach cramps and digestive trouble. 🫖 They used the leaves for nerve pain and made poultices for wounds and sore joints. ⚕️

The old folk magic traditions knew it too. ✨ Thistle was hung above doorways to trap negative energy before it crossed the threshold. 🧿 Carried in a pocket to ward off melancholy. The seeds were burned to clear out what no longer served. In magical practice it is known as one of the strongest plants for protection, warding, purification, and breaking a hex. 🪄🪬

Most of us know what it feels like to keep showing up even when things are hard. To push through when the odds are not in your favor. To bloom anyway. 🌺🌻🪻

🌵 Happy Monday y'all. This week we are taking inspiration from the Opuntia Cactus.🌵

Think about this plant for a second. It grows in the brutal heat 🥵with little water, asks for nothing, and still manages to feed people, heal people, and protect everything around it. 🥰It has been feeding wildlife 🐾and people on these plains for centuries. Nopales on your breakfast plate🍳, prickly pear jam on your toast, medicine for your body and your spirit.✨🧘‍♂️

It gives generously and it does not deplete itself doing it.
It puts up boundaries without apology. 🌵Those spines are not aggression. They are self respect.💪

Native peoples planted it at their doorways intentionally. Not just as a fence but as a guardian. A living boundary between their space and anything that meant them harm. Curanderismo traditions still honor that today.✊🌵

Today we are putting it out there to be a little more like the Opuntia. Give freely. Nourish yourself and your people. Put up your spines when you need to. Protect your energy, your peace, and your people without explanation. 🧿☮️
