As Pet Appreciation Week comes to a close, here's something I believe with my whole heart:

Every pet is communicating something.

Through their behavior.
Through their routines.
Through the small changes we sometimes overlook.

When we slow down and observe, we often discover clues that help us better understand what our pets need.

🐾 What if your dog's symptoms aren't random?

When Luke was about 3 years old, he started having allergy issues. Ear wax buildup. Ear drainage. Floppy ears.

At first, I thought it was seasonal.

But after paying closer attention, I realized there was a pattern.

Living in West Texas means dealing with strong winds that act like a giant "pollen highway," carrying allergens from neighboring states right into our backyard.

That discovery changed everything.

It also became one of the reasons I created the PAWS Method.

Sometimes the clues are already there. We just need to learn how to spot them.

🐾 Daily movement
🐾 Fresh water
🐾 Quality nutrition
🐾 Mental enrichment
🐾 Noticing small changes

When we pay attention to the little things, we're often able to spot patterns before they become bigger concerns.
