Pafford EMS Ambulance Transporting Patient on I-55 Hit Head-On

WESSON, MS - [February 6, 2026] – Pafford EMS is heartbroken to confirm that one of our ambulances was involved in a serious crash last night on I-55 near Wesson, MS. The ambulance was traveling northbound and had two crew members on board, both of whom are currently in critical condition. They have both been flown to the nearest trauma center.

Unfortunately, we also received the heartbreaking news that the patient being transported in the ambulance was pronounced deceased at the scene. We are unsure of the condition of the driver who struck us head-on.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) is the lead investigative agency for this tragic crash.

As we navigate through this difficult time, we ask for your compassion and to join us in praying for everyone affected. Our top priority remains the safety and full recovery of our crew members, and we are committed to supporting them in every way possible during their recovery journey.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all emergency services that promptly responded to this incident. Their support was invaluable in managing the situation. Thank you for everything you have done for these four patients tonight.

• Never drive impaired—plan a safe ride ahead of time

• Keep space heaters clear of anything flammable
• Stay weather-aware and dress comfortably for changing conditions

🎄 Christmas Parade Update 🍭

📢 Good Afternoon, Lucedale!

Main Street parking lots are almost cleared out. Within the next hour, we will begin clearing Mill Street, and by 5:00 PM no personal vehicles will be allowed on the parade line-up route along Mill Street and Ratliff Street.
Riders should plan to park and walk to their assigned entry number.

🚧 Barricades will be placed from the start of the parade route on Main Street to approximately the intersection of Main & Summer Streets (near Community Bank).
As a reminder, please do not sit on, move, jump over, or drive around any barricades. Use extreme caution when traveling near the parade area.

📍 Parade Route: The parade will begin at the intersection of Main Street & Virginia Street and will end near Malfunction Junction on Winter Street.

🚫 There should NOT be any spectators on Virginia Street or Ratliff Street (Old Factory / J & B Feed area).

🌤 Weather Update: The latest forecast shows the rain has moved out. Bundle up and come enjoy the festivities!

🎁 City Hall’s Open House kicks off at 3 PM and runs until 5 PM.

🎄 The parade is still set to roll at 6 PM.

Every day, we get the privilege of helping our friends, neighbors, and families in their moments of need, and that’s something we never take for granted. This community supports us, trusts us, and allows us to do the work we love, and we’re deeply grateful for that.

AmeriPro EMS of George County is proud to be participating in these upcoming community events!

Dec. 6 - Lucedale Christmas Parade 🎄

The parade starts at 6:00 PM, and we can’t wait to see everyone!

Dec. 13 - Touch A Truck 🚑

Touch A Truck is a fun event where you can bring your kids and yourself to see various vehicles used in our everyday lives. We will have one of our ambulances there, and you can see the little work area we have when providing excellent patient care. This event is at the George County Fairgrounds from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Please keep in mind that if you or your children have sensitive ears, there will be a Horn Free/Sensory Friendly experience from 10:00-10:30 AM.

We can’t wait to see everyone at these events! As always, we’ll also have full 911 coverage to ensure our community continues to have timely emergency care.
