Michigan just announced through Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA) grants available to assist with "outdoor dining expenses" which include dividers, panels, etc...

NEWS RELEASE -- November 13, 2020
The Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity (LEO) has allocated federal CARES Act funds to assist qualified small businesses expand capacity during the cold weather months. Eligible businesses may apply to receive between $1,000 – $10,000 in funding.
When: The application process will open on November 18, 2020 at Noon.
How: Grants will be awarded to eligible businesses on a first-come, first-served basis, with special consideration given to fulfill a minimum of 10 requests in each of Michigan’s prosperity regions.
Why: Many businesses have been impacted by extended closures and capacity limitations. These funds can be used to help expand capacity and increase sales opportunities.
Eligibility
Grants in the $1,000 – $10,000 range are available for commercial firms and nonprofits with 50 or fewer full-time equivalent employees in these industries:
Restaurants and/or bars
Banquet centers
Retail stores
Gyms and fitness centers
Additionally, funding of up to $15,000 is available for local governments, including cities, townships, villages and counties that provide common space for businesses, and commercial property owners who provide common space for tenants.
Eligible Expenses
All funds must be used in support of weatherization of capacity expansions. Construction of permanent structures is not an allowable use.
Ideas include:
Temporary structures, such as canopies, igloos and tents, to cover outdoor seating
Portable heaters
Outdoor furniture and tableware
Outdoor cooking equipment
Fencing; dividers such as planters, hangings, or Plexiglas panels
Sanitizing supplies and equipment
Security devices
Electronic menu access
Upgrades necessary to increase capacity for carryout and delivery service
Delivery charges and labor for installation
Grant Time Frame
The grant application process itself will open on November 18, 2020 at Noon.
Applications may be made for expenses incurred between August 1, 2020 – December 30, 2020, provided the business and expenses meet eligibility requirements.
​Applications will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guarantee that a previously incurred expense will be reimbursed.
Grant awards will be made as soon as possible. All expenses need to be made between August 1, 2020 – December 30, 2020, with receipts due for reimbursement by January 15, 2021.
