A Heartfelt Thank You to Two Very Special Board Members Ed & Katie W! ❤️

For more than 10+ years, these two incredible individuals have been dedicated supporters and an important part of the Michael J. Dias Foundation family. Their time, commitment, and passion for our mission have made a lasting impact on our organization and the individuals we serve.

They also played an instrumental role in helping us open Sean’s Place, a project that holds such deep personal meaning in honor of their beloved son, Sean, who they tragically lost. Their strength, love, and commitment to helping others turn their personal loss into a lasting legacy of hope and recovery is something we will always be grateful for.

As they conclude their terms on our Board of Directors, they’re certainly not saying goodbye! They will continue to be involved and support our mission, but they’re also looking forward to enjoying a little more fun and free time. And we think they’ve certainly earned it!

In true MJD fashion, they wrapped up their board service by signing up to provide dinner for our residents and alumni at our monthly dinner and meeting. It’s such a fitting reflection of who they are and the heart they have for our community.

From all of us at the Michael J. Dias Foundation, thank you for more than a decade of dedication, generosity, and unwavering support. Your contributions have helped shape who we are today, and we are so grateful that you’ll continue to be part of our journey.

Two Years. One Day at a Time. 💙

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone at Sean’s Place Transitional Home — 2 YEARS of sobriety for Brendan🎉

Two years of choosing recovery. Two years of growth, strength, and commitment to a better life. And perhaps one of the most meaningful parts of this journey is seeing him rebuild and strengthen the relationship with his boys.

This photo says so much — a proud father, his son by his side, and a sobriety coin representing two years of hard work and dedication.

Recovery is about so much more than putting down the substances. It’s about rebuilding trust, creating memories, repairing relationships, and becoming the father, son, and person you were meant to be.

A Very Special Recovery Story ❤️

Today’s resident spotlight is a little different—and especially meaningful to us at the Michael J. Dias Foundation.

We first welcomed JJ into our program in 2019. His journey took an unexpected turn, and he spent time incarcerated. But when he was released, he made a powerful decision: he chose to come back and continue his recovery with us.

For nearly two more years, he worked his program, grew, faced challenges, and continued moving forward.

Today, we are incredibly proud to share that he has recently moved into his own place and is successfully living independently.

His story is a reminder that recovery doesn’t have to be perfect to be successful. Sometimes, it’s about having the courage to come back, start again, and keep going.

We are so proud of how far he has come—and we’re honored to have been part of his journey.

This is recovery. This is what we do. ❤️
