The North Carolina Statewide Independent Living Council (NCSILC) is sponsoring an emerging youth leader to attend the 2026 Association of Programs for Rural Independent Living (APRIL) Conference to be held in Niagara Falls, NY on October 23-25, 2026. Applications for NC SILC sponsorship are due by July 31, 2026!

NC SILC will cover the cost of conference registration, airfare, lodging, and meals for the selected participant.

Free Sea Fishing Event for Families

The United Special Sportsman Alliance is hosting a free North Carolina Sea Fishing Event for children ages 6–18 with permanent disabilities or life-threatening illnesses and their families.

The event will take place August 6–7, 2026 in Southport, NC. Families will enjoy a Friday morning fishing trip followed by lunch. The event is limited to 35 families, so interested families are encouraged to contact USSA as soon as possible.
