Chronic stress is long-term stress that can develop from ongoing pressures like financial struggles, relationship problems, workplace stress, trauma, or major life changes, and over time it can affect both mental and physical health.
Common symptoms include fatigue, headaches, irritability, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems, digestive issues, nervousness, and frequent illness. When stress remains unmanaged, it can increase the risk of anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, heart disease, and weakened immune function.
Managing chronic stress starts with recognizing the signs early and supporting the body through regular exercise, quality sleep, mindfulness practices, journaling, social support, and reducing exposure to ongoing stress triggers whenever possible.
