Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. As you fire up the grill with family and friends, take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday and the freedom we enjoy.

Steak is a great way to add high-quality protein to your meals, along with key nutrients like iron and B vitamins.

Like anything, red meat is best enjoyed in moderation. Think of it as something that elevates a meal—paired with fresh vegetables, grains, and other whole foods—rather than the centerpiece every single day.

Good food is all about balance, and a well-raised steak can definitely have its place at the table.

How long does it take for a calf to mature? It’s not overnight—that’s for sure.

Most calves are weaned around 6–8 months, but full growth takes time. Many reach market weight between 12–24 months depending on the operation, nutrition, and goals. Others kept for breeding take even longer to fully mature.

Good cattle aren’t rushed. It takes time, consistency, and the right care to get from calf to finished animal.

Happy Mother’s Day to the ones who do it all.

From the pasture to the barn, a good mama keeps things running—raising the next generation, keeping a watchful eye, and putting in the work day in and day out. It’s something we see across the herd and appreciate all the same.

Here’s to the moms who show up, stand steady, and get it done.

How much water does a cow drink in a day? More than most people guess.

A typical mature beef cow will drink about 15-30 gallons daily—and on hot summer days or during peak lactation, that number can climb even higher. Lactating dairy cows (different from what we raise) can drink up to 50 gallons per day! That’s the equivalent of a full bathtub… or a lot of garden hoses running.

Clean, constant water access isn’t just a detail—it’s essential for health, growth, and overall herd performance.

Ever played peek-a-boo with a calf? No? Well, now you have! 🐄👀

Different species, same early-life instincts. Curiosity, sticking close to mom, figuring out their footing, and reacting to new sights and sounds—those behaviors show up across the board.

Raising livestock means seeing those patterns firsthand, from the first days on.
