Hope and Healing with Peers

Hope and Healing with Peers Hope and Healing with Peers offers Peer Led support groups and workshops. The stories create HOPE and the stories create HEALING.

It also offers Peer training programs to organizations who would like to enhance their bereavement services with trained peer facilitators. HOPE AND HEALING WITH PEERS offers a program designed to train peers who have "lived the experience" to companion others through their grief journey. Peer facilitators are "Hope Representatives" who offer living proof that people do heal and are able to find H

OPE again. Organizations such as Hospices and Assisted Living facilities find that by having peer led facilitators can be a valuable asset to their bereavement and wellness programs. Peer led support groups provide those attending to continue their grief journey as their story evolves. Hope and Healing with Peers also offers 8 week Loss of Spouse/Partner and Adults Who Have Lost a Parent support groups held on Zoom.

Touched By Love

Do you ever wonder what the person you love and lost would think about you being sad all the time?

I think they would be moved by your tears...but also saddened by your sadness.

They would want you to miss them, and, at the same time, they would hope for their memory not just to be a source of pain for you.

They would hope for you to remember that behind this pain, there was joy and moments of complete happiness. They would want you to continue to be happy.

Here's the thing...I believe a person really dies when the last person whose life was touched by them dies.

So...when you think about it in that way...they have so long still left to live...because they continue to survive within you.

The conversation with them goes on without end in your own mind. They'll be with you through many things that have not yet happened, through so many days filled with joys and sorrows. You'll take them into your confidences. You'll hear their voice...and they'll advise and console you.

Death can’t rob you of this...because they live inside you now.

You’ll never forget them. You’ll live tomorrow and the next day. You can live on and still be faithful to everything they meant for you.

They left behind love, and love wants what’s good for the other...love wants there to be more love. They’ll follow you through the rest of your life. No one can separate you from them.

You may miss them so much...but you've been touched by love...so for that reason...they’re still here.

It takes a lot of courage to live life as a griever.

This quote is for you, and it is for me too.

Who can say how long healing takes? We don't have that answer... all we know for sure, is that it takes time, and we have to honor that. And when someone we love dies, the person we were before is not here anymore... we become a different version, not worse nor better, just different...

Part of our healing is getting to know that person and introducing them to the world... but that takes time too. Just keep moving forward, one foot in front of the other.

As Mother's Day approaches we find ourselves thinking about our moms whether they are still with us or have passed, or those women who take care of us like mothers. I'm honored today to share with you an excerpt from my cousin Peg Roberts soon to be available new book "Listen To Your Self, Wisdom Often Comes From
Within" also the author of "Spirit of Your Soul" available on Amazon.
REMEMBERING OUR MOMS

She was the one who knew you best
Caring for you from the beginning
Worrying when no one else would
Always watchful, ever present, the guardian of her flock
The keeper of memories, the holder of dreams
How can it be that she is gone?
Shouldn't someone so rare live forever?
In the middle of forever there is
a special place for people such as she
A place so restful that the cares of this world disappear
Lifted are the burdens large and small that she carried
All replaced by the peacefulness she deserves

The one who once washed your socks,
picked up after everyone and made your house a home,
now has a place of her own
In special moments, you will hear her laugh,
remember her smile, chuckle over a remembrance
For now, you are the keeper
of memories and the holder of dreams
She will live on through you
She will live on with you as well

For a mother is always a mother
Watching now from a different vantage point,
but still close by when needed
As time passes and the pain of loss begins to subside
In quiet times, when you least expect it,
you may feel her presence
You will know she is with you
Her love will surround you and
you will feel peaceful once again~

Dedicating this to my mom Jessie and to my Aunt Helen who took care of me like a mom..
