My bank account called and said my “healing journey” looks suspiciously like a shopping addiction. 🛒✨

We’ve all been there, right? Thinking that if we just buy the $2,000 espresso machine, or book that flight to Paris, or find the perfect salt lamp to ‘absorb’ our childhood trauma, we’ll finally feel... better.

But the truth is, comfort is a beautiful place to start, but it’s a really dangerous place to hide.

If you’re tired of just dressing up the pain and you’re ready to actually face what’s underneath it, we’re here. We’ll hold the space for you.

Stop the scroll. Let’s actually start.

Start with a free consultation.

Even Michael B. Jordan had to go to therapy after playing Killmonger. 👀

Think about that for a second.

One of the most celebrated performances in recent memory and what it took to get there also required him to get help coming back. So whether you’re playing a character or just trying to survive your everyday life the reality is we all need a little therapy.

Not just because it gives you a safe space to heal. But because you get quality time with a trained, licensed individual whose entire job is to support you, grow with you, and walk alongside you through your journey.

A good therapist doesn’t just hold space for your pain. They mirror back all of the amazing things that have been inside of you all along. We laugh with you. We cry with you. We celebrate every single win with you. We see you for exactly who you are and we welcome all of it.

So if you’ve been on the fence about therapy this Mental Health Awareness Month, jump in. We don’t bite. 💙

👇🏾Drop a 💙 if you’ve ever considered therapy or if you’ve been thinking about therapy but don’t know where to start, DM us. We got you!

Y’all I tried to stay. I really did. 😭

But between the war, the economy, coaches with no degrees charging $500 a session while I’m over here with my apparently no longer credible social work degree fighting insurance companies who keep dropping rates, cutting session times, but still charging clients more…

Then Atlanta flash flooded in the summer and gas is still high. I can’t. 😂🫶🏾

I’m not saying goodbye. I’m just saying… don’t look for me when I’m off to Mexico.

Me looking at the notes I told myself I’d finish over the weekend. 👀😂

Monday came fast and these notes are still exactly where I left them untouched, unbothered, and judging me.

Listen. I showed up to the therapy room and that’s what matters. The notes? We’ll get there. Eventually. Probably.

Therapists, if this is you too, drop a 😭 in the comments so I know I’m not alone out here.

Because life as a therapist is basically a race with no finish line and somehow we still show up every single Monday. 💙

Some of our parts that hold our wounds and burdens stay with us until they trust us enough to go the rest of the way without them.

Grief can feel like this too. Sometimes when we grieve, we carry the loss or pain with us, almost like holding onto that feeling helps us stay close to the person we lost.

But even as life goes on, there often comes a point where we have to release the grief. Not rush it, not bypass it, but actually feel it and make space for what it holds so we can keep moving forward.

And releasing doesn’t mean forgetting the person or the memories you shared. It means giving yourself enough room to breathe again, so your system can feel safe and capable as you continue.

“I’m just tired.”

We hear that a lot. And we usually tell people to rest, push through, you’ll be fine. But tired doesn’t always mean tired.

Sometimes it’s stress with how your system is running hard but still running. That one you can recover from.

Sometimes it’s burnout where you’ve been pouring into that balloon so long it’s about to burst. There’s no coming back from that one the same way.

And sometimes it’s depression which nobody talks about, right because depression doesn’t look sad. Depression looks like a clown with a mask on. Smiling. Showing up. Thriving on the outside while something completely different is happening internally.

Here’s what I know: we’re all stressed because we’re chasing somebody else’s definition of what we should be. We keep pushing. We keep performing. Until the system says no more and shuts itself down just to survive.

The body’s actually trying to protect you. But that protection can also be a sign that something deeper needs actual support.

At The Comfy Place, we don’t guess. We help you understand what your system is actually trying to tell you so you get the right care at the right time.

👇🏾Comment “SUPPORT” and we’ll break this down for real.

Maternal health isn’t just about what’s happening physically.

Yes, we talk about the checkups.
The recovery.
Making sure everything looks okay.

But that’s not the whole picture.

What about how you’re actually feeling?
The overwhelm.
The anxiety.
The kind of heaviness you can’t always explain.

That matters too.

Because things can look fine physically
and still feel really heavy in ways people don’t see.

Your emotional well-being isn’t separate from your care.
It’s a part of it.

It all counts.
It all matters.

And if this is something you’ve been quietly carrying,
you don’t have to hold it by yourself.

At The Comfy Place, we make room for what doesn’t always get seen or talked about.

If you’d like to connect with us, comment CARE and we’ll send you the next steps.
