Starting something new causes anxiety, and no that doesn't mean something's wrong with your kid lol. New school, new building, new faces, all at once, and their nervous system hasn't caught up yet to know if any of it's safe. That's not drama, that's just biology doing its job.

We're not trying to make the anxiety disappear, we're trying to help them move through it instead of getting stuck in it.

What's helped your kid through a big transition? Drop it below 👇🏾

So I did a news segment on teen mental health and back to school anxiety, and there was way too much good stuff to fit into one clip lol

So we're doing a whole series. Over the next few days I'm breaking down what's really going on with our teens right now, the anxiety, the signs parents miss, the social media stress, all of it, and what you can actually do about it.

This is for every parent who feels like they're losing their kid to a closed door and a "I'm fine."

Follow along, this is one you don't want to miss 👇🏾

I have officially become the master of the 5 minute nap. Don’t get me wrong I love my clients, but when I tell you we will end on time, we will end on time. I need every bit of that transition time to squeeze my nap in.

Who else can relate?

The hardest part of being a child therapist isn’t the kids, it’s the parents lol

The amount of times a parent has called me trying to get the tea on what their kid said in session and I have to sit there like ma’am I cannot tell you that, that’s between me and your child.

Tag a child therapist who’s had to bleep themselves mid-conversation with a parent 👇🏾

Is there anything more dramatic than a kid being asked to do one simple chore? 🫠

You ask for a plate to be moved or a room to be tidied, and suddenly, it’s a full scale tragedy. For them, it’s a movie. But for you? In that moment? Your nervous system is just… glitching.

Let’s be real. Parenting in this new age has most of us ready to crash out some days. It is hands down not for the weak. It’s the constant negotiating, the de-escalating, and the deep breaths you’re forced to take while your house is a disaster zone and someone is melting down over the dishwasher.

It’s a heavy load to carry, and honestly, you shouldn't have to manage that frustration in isolation.

We have therapists here who truly understand these high intensity moments and the defiance that comes with them. We’re here to help you find your footing again so the chaos feels a lot more manageable.

You aren't alone in this. Message us to get started. 🤍

Consider this your official high-voltage invitation to book that first appointment. Think of it less as a threat and more as a jumpstart your nervous system has been waiting for. ⚡

Send this to someone who keeps saying “I should probably talk to somebody.” 👇💀

"Like an elephant's taken one of its feet off my chest."

That's what it feels like when you finally stop performing. We spend so much energy masking at work, in relationships, and in life just trying to keep it together. And it is exhausting.

This scene reminds us of something we forget too often. Real friends don't run when things get messy. They wait for the truth so they can figure out how to actually show up for you.

Your diagnosis doesn't define your worth. Your struggles don't disqualify you from being loved, supported, or seen. You just need the right space to finally say it out loud.

At The Comfy Place, we want to be that space. You don't have to keep performing here.

If you're tired of masking and ready to just be yourself reach out. We're here. 💛
