Georgia Dermatology Professional Association The Georgia Dermatology Professional Association exists to strengthen connection, education, and professional community for dermatology PAs and NPs in Georgia.

Join us at the PEARLS 2026 Conference, Sept. 2–5th in Savannah! Promotes the education and profession of PAs in Dermatology in the state of Georgia. We offer networking and educational opportunities through email, social networking, dinner programs as well our annual CME conference (Dermatology PEARLS: Physician Extenders Advanced Regional Learning Symposium.) Chronic hives. Hidden food allergy?

It’s a connection patients may understandably make when symptoms keep coming back. But that assumption can lead to testing that creates more confusion than clarity.

For World Urticaria Day, we’re sharing insight from Amanda Michaud, DMSc, PA-C, AE-C, who brings more than a decade of experience practicing as a PA in allergy and immunology.

In her conversation with Christine Ashton, Amanda explains how the symptom history helps guide targeted food allergy testing, and why broad panel testing can lead to unnecessary food avoidance.

For dermatology PAs and NPs, these conversations matter. Helping patients understand why a test may not be useful can keep the search for answers from becoming a growing list of foods they’re afraid to eat.
